The Idiot Abroad: Donald Trump will undergo a formal state visit to the UK in June

Donald Trump visit to UK

Donald Trump has already been to England and he’s already met the Queen. They did their quickie meeting at Windsor Castle, and then the Queen shuffled him off like she does for many despots she’s forced to meet. But Trump still wanted the full state-visit treatment, which is why he’s going back to England in less than two months. It was just confirmed this morning: The Trumps will undertake a three-day state visit to the UK on June 3rd through the fifth. It’s believed that Theresa May really wants the visit to go well, and to distract from the ongoing Brexit catastrophe.

Rebecca English at the Daily Mail did a Twitter thread about expectations from the royal family for this state visit. Trump will likely get a formal welcome at The Mall, complete with a carriage ride. He’ll get lunch with the Queen and senior royals, including Prince Charles who reportedly hates him too. There will be a state banquet either at Windsor or Buckingham Palace. Rebecca English made sure to note that Meghan is still an American citizen AND that Meghan hates Trump, but that Meghan would have been asked to do something during the state visit under normal circumstances. But Meghan would still be on maternity leave in early June, so it’s possible Meghan won’t even be seen during the Trump visit.

  1. Toot says:

I know Meghan is happy she’ll be on maternity leave. Perfect date selection. 😉

  2. Jerusha says:

    So very, very sorry, Cousins.

    • Megan says:

I extend my apologies as well.

Brexit is such a shi*tshow, May is welcoming a visit from Trump. Think about that.

  3. Becks1 says:

she’s on maternity leave, she gets to miss him, too bad, so sad for Trump. (my theory is that we will see her at the trooping the colour as her first official event post baby.)

I’m so sick about how much Trump is going to enjoy all the pomp and circumstance. I would bet almost anything that he is going to come back and want a gilded carriage for “events” in DC.

  4. Enn says:

He really is the worst. He’s going to want a carriage ride through DC now.

  5. Kitten says:

I feel so irresponsible letting our president piss on a neighbor’s lawn. Sorry in advance.

    • SarSte says:

Don’t worry friend, we will be making it very clear he is not welcome.

      • whatWHAT? says:

oh, PLEASE DO. orange-colored, small-handed effigies in diapers will probably annoy him the most.

      • Megan says:

Signs that say “Trump is Poor” would be better. Nothing irritates him more than questioning his supposed wealth.

      • Carmen says:

Please, get the signs ready. The ones last summer were hilarious.

      • whatWHAT? says:

and add a “show us your taxes!” would annoy him, too. ;)

      • Yvette says:

@SarSte, you guys still have that Bigly balloon of pouty Toddler Trump in a diaper, right?

      • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

        Trump Baby Balloon time!!!

      • WhatNow? says:

Thank you SarSte! Do you have enough helium? It takes a lot to replicate such a giant bag of gas.

      • JayneBirkinB says:

I’ll be popping popcorn, and watching for the protesters to crowd into the Mall and force Mango Mussolini to take Marine One to Buckingham palace instead of the golden carriage.

OTOH, he may resign by then. Depends on how the whole tax thing turns out….

  6. line says:

What is amusing during his visits abroad, these are the excuses that people seek for to avoid him.

  7. SJR says:

Does The Queen need to tolerate this crap, at her age? No. No. No.
I hope Liz calls Charles and makes him do it.
Charles then calls Camilla, says what’s up…Camilla starts tossing clothes in a suitcase..”Nope. Not me, I’m off to Scotland.”
Wills gets the call…”You are up, get over here, Trump is in town.”
    Wills “Not available, sorry.”
Kate heard in the background…”Hang up quick, hang up. And none of the kids are available either.”
Harrys’ phone rings, told Trump is on the way…hands phone to Meghan, “Here, you deal with him.”
    And so it goes….

Of course, IRL The Queen is a class act. But, seriously I feel sad for her, at her age to have to go to work all day and be polite to the Orange Tool is unfair.

    • AnnaKist says:

Oh, SJR, if only… I really hope he utterly embarrasses himself. Again. He’s a pathetic, hateful old fart. And that’s me being charitable.

      • Megan says:

@Anna – It is impossible for him not to embarrass himself. I just cringe at what insults he is going to dump on the people of the UK. It’s so unfair that they have to put up with his sh*t, too.

      • BayTampaBay says:

@Meghan, and embarrass all the people of the USA.

    • Jen says:

Meh. If she can build her life around a racist colonizing institution like she has and live with her racist pig of a husband, she can handle a couple hours of a different racist pig.

      • pantanlones en fuego says:

Exactly @Jen. I don’t understand how so many people are all “oh the sweet Queen how sad that she has to deal with bigly baby hands.” I mean I hate 45 as much as the next reasonable person but let’s not forget the way the RF is treating MM. TQ’s ideologies are very much in line with 45′s. The only reason for the (supposed) dislike of him is because he’s crass.

      • BayTampaBay says:

@pantanlones en fuego, Maybe Chump & BloJo can go off to some pub and stay away from the TC cameras. Wishful thinking on my part.

      • Tina says:

The Queen is very much supposed to be apolitical, and mostly she is. The one and only time she has deviated from that is when Margaret Thatcher was appeasing the apartheid regime in South Africa. HM let it very much be known that she supported Mandela. The Queen is, as ever, playing the long game.

      • Cerys says:

Exactly. The Queen has met many “controversial” leaders in her time. She has no say in whoever the government expects her to meet.

    • jwoolman says:

I suggest a properly timed summer cold for the Queen. So sorry.

  8. Giddy says:

We know ahead of time that he will humiliate us, it’s just a matter of degree. His infractions will range from a smothered belch to goosing TQ. I hate him.

    • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

Don’t forget being unable to walk a straight line and veering directly in front of her.

  9. Michael says:

I hope they LINE the streets with protesters to show this pompous ads just how much he is disliked. He will have to hold 20 of his hillbilly rallies for his ego to recover

    • AnnaKist says:

Well, the protesters have mobilised themselves well so far. I hope they turn their full attention on to this piece of schïtt, come June.

    • Swack says:

I have read that the some papers in the UK are already protesting the visit – especially a state visit with the carriage ride. I hope the protesters turn out in the streets in “bigly” numbers.

    • EscapedConvent says:

Where is the giant Diaper Baby Trump balloon? This is the perfect occasion for it. Please, someone dust him off and set him free to float above trump’s head during the entire visit. Please! America is begging you.

  10. Rapunzel says:

    Trump meets QEII, take II:

Trump: So Liz, did you read the Mueller report? No collusion. Total vindication. Absolutely exonerates me. Nothing but an angry Dem hit job and witch hunt.

QEII (thinking): Where’s the gin? Someone bring me my gin!
QEII (out loud, changing subject): That’s nice. how’s your wife?

Trump: Melanie? She’s sitting right next to me!

QEII (startled): Oh, I’m sorry! My mistake.

Melania: You probably didn’t recognize me. I had kidney surgery.

QEII: (to Melania) I recognized you. You were here last time. But I thought you were Secret Service. (to Trump) I thought that blond woman you’re always hugging in pictures was your wife.

Trump: That’s Ivanka, my daughter. I just wish she was my wife.

QEII (thinking): Why the hell couldn’t I have left these people by the dog’s supper dish, like last time? Where’s my bloody gin!!??

    This WILL happen.

  11. Molly says:

I made this comment in the other thread about the Louis pictures, but I see you BRF. I know you released this between the Louis pics and the Polo Baby so people wouldn’t be mad for too long in the short-term.

  12. Harryg says:

The worst most vulgar gaudy horrid idiot president couple ever.

By the way The Idiot Abroad was such a funny series. I wish they had that guy Karl interview orange turd and the moron wife.

  13. Tiffany says:

So…..did he receive a formal invite from PM May, or was he blowing up her phone until she made one.

  14. Digital Unicorn says:

The protesters will be out in force with the baby blimp and sadly we will very likely insult TQ and embarrass himself and the US as he does whenever he’s not on his own turf.

    Bigly saddo

  15. Lightpurple says:

Watch Nagini try to slither her way into this.

    We’re terribly sorry, UK.

  16. Mabs A'Mabbin says:

Oh look… He’s putting on lipstick.

  17. Kylie says:

Is it actually going to happen? May invited him for one ages ago and it kept being pushed back.I feel bad for anyone forced to attend. Although Princess Michael is probably really looking forward to it.

  18. OhhhhNoooo says:

Maybe they will let Phillip pick Trump at the airport.

  19. EscapedConvent says:

i would change the heading only slightly: The UK is going to undergo him. But I’m puzzled. Didn’t they get enough of this arrogant imbecile the last time? Why is he getting a state visit with a banquet? Will they give him his customary two scoops of ice cream?

Why is this happening at all? I don’t understand. The Queen cannot be forced to give anyone a state visit! Nobody wants him there. Why encourage him? He should be ignored like the embarrassing joke he is.

This is why he believes people love him. I am bitterly disappointed that he would be treated like a respected visiting dignitary. I don’t know why the UK would do this. Maybe at least Scotland will give him the welcome he deserves!

Here’s hoping the crowds of protesters attract more people than the original Woodstock.

    • Alyse says:

I don’t understand either, maybe he felt he never got the proper Buckingham Palace reception last time. If this has come from Theresa May then she’s deluded.

    • Bohemian Angel says:

Apparently we (UK) desperately want a trade deal in the light of Brexit, so we have to be nice and welcoming to him and give him what he wants, pomp and ceremony.
It’s all because of Brexit as per!

      • jwoolman says:

But you can’t believe a word President Twitter says. He makes an agreement and then reverses himself as soon as he is safely up in the air in Air Force One. If you are counting on any trade deals he makes – so sorry.

Maybe he will ask the pilot to detour to Dubai, get off to get some burgers, and never get back on again. Dubai would be a good place of exile for him. Fast food joints, golf — what more does he need? Supposedly Dubai doesn’t extradite.

He really should do a runner before he loses his passport as a flight risk.

    • Tina says:

May invited him for a state visit when he was elected, hoping to make nice and get a good trade deal. This is her chickens coming home to roost.

  20. Emily says:

The last time he visited, his people made sure they didn’t take the main roads where people were protesting. He cried to Twitter that he was beloved in the UK and “if” there where protestors, they were obv paid by Soros. We can expect the same this time.

  21. ChiaMom says:

  22. nic919 says:

Well it should be interesting because there will be a lot of hearings over potential impeachment going on around that time. Theresa May is a total moron and should never have invited him even if it was to pretend to make Brexit go away. He got in using the same shifty voter influence and it’s not going to be overlooked. I look forward to the huge protests crushing his fragile ego.

  23. hnmmom says:

Sorry, Britain. And we will be overseas at the same time, I am thinking it’s best we pack those “I didn’t vote for Trump” buttons after all.

  24. Lola Lola3 says:

Woo hoo! I love it when the UK brings out the baby trump tantrum balloon. It makes my day. I want one for my backyard.

  25. Pip says:

Just when you think things can’t get any worse …

As if it wasn’t already embarrassing enough to be British at the moment, we now apparently have to kiss the repugnant fascist’s wrinkled orange ass. We’re a pathetic chaotic bloody mess at the moment & I still find it hard to believe that this supposedly reasonably rational, tolerant country has spewn forth the likes of Johnson, Farage, Francois etc. & millions of my fellow country-men lap up their inflammatory rhetoric.

Very unhappy with this country & our craven, self-serving politicians.

On a purely practical level, we could also do without the expense of this ridiculous bloody visit.

Oh well, at least the protests & placards will be spectacular.

  26. Skipper says:

    Keep him.

    • BayTampaBay says:

Gives us bill Cambridge in exchange. The Yanks could whip Bill Cambridge into shape.

  27. JadedBrit says:

Bloody, bloody, bloody, helling hell. I’m going to shroud the house in darkness and cover the mirrors: might as well tear my collar while I’m at it. Having to subsidise that tango-hued lunatic’s visit via taxation…
All I can hope and pray for is that he’s followed by a very tiny, localised thunderstorm that singes that God
-awful combover of his and ignites his eyebrows.

  28. Beach Dreams says:

Meghan will be able to escape via maternity leave, but I’m not sure Harry will be so fortunate. Trump’s made disgusting remarks about Diana and blamed Kate for the topless balcony photos several years ago, so it’ll be interesting to see how much the rest of the family interacts with him.

  29. Casey20 says:

Brits rolling out the red carpet for Trump….he doesn’t get that type of treatment in the US. A carriage ride, really. Trust me after all of their trouble he will turn on them and make a complete fool of May, once again!

  30. Lisa says:

Donny has abnormally small hands with curled fingers. Melania has abnormally flat feet, which is why she wears spiked heels even while posing nude.

  31. A says:

    I love 45
