Joe Biden & Bone Spurs Trump are arguing about which one would win in a fight

Did you know that Joe Biden is still considering a presidential run in 2020? It’s true. He tried to get the political rumor mill churning last year by refusing to rule out a run, and it feels like he’s still making some moves about it. Biden is 75 years old. I just feel like… no, not now. I respect his service and I respect so much of his work, but no, I don’t want him as president. But I’ll take him as The Guy Who Won’t Shut Up About Trump Being An A–hole. I’d elect Joe Biden to that position every year.

Former vice president Joe Biden may or may not end up running in 2020, but his Tuesday speech in Miami decrying sexual assault found one man in its crosshairs: President Trump.

“A guy who ended up becoming our national leader said, ‘I can grab a woman anywhere and she likes it,’” Biden said, referencing Trump’s bragging about sexual assault in a 2005 recording. “They asked me if I’d like to debate this gentleman, and I said no. I said, ‘If we were in high school, I’d take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him.’”

Biden made that remark in 2016 ahead of the presidential election. But at this week’s event at the University of Miami, part of the nationwide anti-assault campaign “It’s On Us,” the former VP specifically highlighted Trump’s defense of his on-tape remarks as merely “locker room talk.”

“I’ve been in a lot of locker rooms my whole life,” Biden said. “I’m a pretty damn good athlete. Any guy who talked that way was usually the fattest, ugliest S.O.B. in the room.”

Both comments from Biden drew applause from students in the room. (And while boxing experts like Trump’s odds in a theoretical fight against Biden, the bone spurs Trump claimed in order to avoid the draft as a young man may affect his footwork.)

[From USA Today]

USA Today’s parenthetical is giving me LIFE. And what Biden said was just… the truth? Trump is a bully and a sexual predator. The only thing I take issue with is how Biden paraphrased Trump’s comments: “I can grab a woman anywhere and she likes it.” Trump never said anything about whether his victims “like” it. Trump never said anything about that because he doesn’t care. He’s not doing it for her pleasure. He’s doing it because he’s a sexual predator.

Anyway, because Trump is an ego monster, he heard about Biden’s comments. So he tweeted this:

  1. Loopy says:

He should run and have one of the Obama’s as Vice president now that would be hilarious. At 75 well it depends how is his health, hasn’t the US had presidents that were older? As someone from Africa alot of Presidents hand on well into their 80s and even 90 years of age.

    • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

I love me some Ole Handsome Joe Biden (Wonkette speak), and I am shocked at how aged he looks in the above photo. Did he lose a little weight? He still has that sparkle in his eyes, though.

      • Susannah says:

After everything he’s been through, it’s not surprising that he’s starting to look his age but I also think letting his hair color go natural and losing some weight has made him look older.
After his son’s death from cancer Biden started a foundation, The Biden Cancer Initiative which is hoping to find a cure through funding research. Personally, I think that devoting himself to that cause would be a better use of his time than being President anyway.

    • Morning Coffee says:

No. He should not run. He’s too old. He also should stop talking about fighting the President. This isn’t funny and it isn’t helpful. We need new faces. Not septegenarians like Biden (though I love him), Warren and Sanders.

  2. Juls says:

Benedict Bonespurs would cower, cry, and wet himself if Biden even drew back a hand to slap him.

    • Elkie says:

The most tragic thing is that Biden said this is what he would do if they were both IN HIGH SCHOOL, i.e. children.

Meanwhile, Two Scoops is responding in the present tense like the moron he is….

      • StumpyCorgi says:

Wow, really good point. I’m usually so blinded by Donny Two Scoops’ stupidity that I can’t see the nuances. What a moron!!

      • Shannon says:

Right? This was clearly a hypothetical, not some kind of ‘sleep with one eye open’ kind of threat. But seeing as how I’ve met third-graders with a thicker skin than Dotard, I’m not surprised he had to hit back not even realizing neither one of them in *in high school* As for Biden running, he is older but I don’t hate it the idea. I’m sure he’d choose an appropriate and younger running mate. If he ran and got the nomination, it’s a no-brainer he’s getting my vote. I wouldn’t vote for Donald Trump with a gun to my head.

  3. Yellowrocket says:

You guys…. what is actually happening in America? The President of The United States tweeted that he would knock someone out. How has the world changed so much in a year and a half that this is reality and no one is even shocked anymore.

    Is this black mirror?

    • Snazzy says:

I feels like an extended episode, doesn’t it?

    • Juls says:

This is reality. Reality television. And King Nothing is the star. People are not shocked because we have been groomed for years to view this as entertainment for consumption. Which is terrifying, because this is our GOVERNMENT. Those of us that thought reality TV trash would never infiltrate our government were being naive. We have reached peak Idiocracy.

    • Yellowrocket says:

There’s an idiot in charge of America and an evil genius in charge of Russia. Not to mention the lunatic North Korea with he nuclear weapons.

It’s just mind boggling how you go from the Obama administration to this mess so quickly and it’s just accepted. When he was elected we all thought he would last weeks. Now I won’t even be that shocked if he gets a second term.

As the man himself would say- SAD

      • Iso says:

It’s not like if we got rid of Trump, Obama would magically come back… it would just go down the chain. Some of the people in that chain are just as evil AND a little more competent than Baby Fists…

      • Lady D says:

…and the idiot is doing his damnedest to take the intelligence agencies of the country out. He’s trying to cut them off at the knees, and congress is okay with this.
(Not sure if congress should be capitalized, but don’t feel they deserve it today.)

      • Megan says:

Pence is down right horrible and, based on his track record as governor, woefully under qualified to be president, but he is definitely more stable than Trump. At this point, I think that would be an improvement. And the deplorables won’t turn out for Pence in 2020, which is by far his most attractive feature.

    • whatWHAT? says:

we’re not shocked because he’s like this every day, but we ARE appalled, and disgusted.

      • Janetdr says:

Yep! It is so horrible , I am just hunkering down and praying Mueller takes out all of them – fast!

  4. Lindy says:

Biden isn’t terrible but really… Can we please be done with that generation of neoliberal moderate Dems (esp. the older white dudes)? I can’t get remotely excited about voting for Biden. It’s past time for the Dems to move to the left and own the commitment to progressivism. It feels like diminishing returns to keep trying to capture the elusive white conservative union/rust belt Democrat vote. Making concessions in that direction is the wrong way to go.

    • lightpurple says:

Former presidents and vice presidents are supposed to go silently and not criticize what comes after them with ONE exception: if they are running for office. By running, Biden gives himself free license to criticize Trump openly for the next two years, even if he really doesn’t want the job and doesn’t engage in a full campaign.

    • Renee2 says:

I agree with all that you written here.

    • Kitten says:

I’m so with you. I’m fond of Biden but just pleasegodNO more old white dudes!

      • StumpyCorgi says:

I agree; I would love to have more diversity in the Democratic Party (I have no hope for the Republicans so it’s not worth mentioning). But I have nothing but respect for Joe Biden, who wrote the Violence Against Women Act and continues to fight domestic violence through the Biden Foundation. I would definitely vote for him. Sometime’s you can’t judge a book by its cover, even if that cover is an old white dude.

      • Megan says:

I love Joe, but my dream ticket for 2020 is Corey Booker and Kamala Harris. I don’t care in what order their names appear on the ballot.

    • Lua says:

You’re right. Forget all the good candidates if they are male or white. We’ll just let Trump stick around. Four more years!!!

      • Kitten says:

Because it’s virtually IMPOSSIBLE to find a good female candidate or a good LGBTQ candidate or a good candidate of color, amirite? Gotta stick with that pool of old white cis men so nothing ever changes!

SMDH Such a disingenuous and cheap comment on your part. Do better please.

  5. Prairiegirl says:

100% would watch a Biden v. Trump title match on pay-per-view.

    • BearcatLawyer says:

Same. And my money is on Biden. He is a lot fitter than Cheeto Mussolini.

    • Chrissy says:

Joe would take him in the first round!

      • NoShame says:

Moscow Donie needed a golf cart when he was meeting with European leaders last year. They all walked the 500 feet from one building to the other. Trump needed to be driven.

Biden would knock him out in a lot less than a minute. Trump wouldn’t even be able to walk himself into the ring for this match.

    • Megan says:

It would be a crime to broadcast Trump shirtless. Think of the children!

  6. Esmom says:

Ugh, I just saw this elsewhere. I love Joe but wish he hadn’t said the stuff about beating the hell out of him. If he was trying to trigger Bigly, it worked. But I don’t like stooping to Cheeto’s level to do it.

And I also think Joe should give up the idea of running in 2020. I imagine the right wing propaganda machine would go balls out on him, too. I think the Dems need a younger candidate to inspire the new generation.

    • Swack says:

I agree that they need a younger candidate.

    • barrett says:

It’s so immature to go his level. In general it’s like a throw back to childish male behavior. Turned off!

    • lightpurple says:

I believe Biden is only doing this because former VPs are supposed to go away and be silent about their successors UNLESS they are running for the office. By saying he is running, he gives himself license, under the traditional political guidelines, to say whatever he wants about Trump without getting flack for daring to open his mouth even if he backs out two years from now. The Democrats will have a primary season and there will be younger candidates.

    • Erinn says:

I was conflicted. I literally laughed and cheered when I read this. Because there’s still a certain amount of petty that I contain as a person. And honestly, as shitty as it is, it’s nice to see SOMEONE that outraged on behalf of women. I hadn’t really followed Biden much, but after reading the open letter he wrote to rapist Brock Turner’s victim I’ve loved him. I know it’s incredibly inappropriate, and that he shouldn’t be going to this level. But I also am not sorry that someone is showing Trump a taste of his own medicine. I just wish it was done a little differently.

I know, he’s another old white dude. I know he’s not a fresh face. I know he’s not going to re-energize the party. I’m Canadian, and it’s not the same kind of impact on me as it is on someone in the US. But in a way – if it takes a reasonably likeable old white dude to get rid of this dumpster fire, I’m not horribly opposed to it.

And with Joe, at least he’s been consistently working on causes related to violence against women. I know he’s not a perfect candidate. And I know we shouldn’t have to rely on a white man savior type to do it. But at least he’s been involved in this issue for decades. It makes sense why he’s visibly outraged over the kind of shit that’s been passing as presidential.

But I’m with you in that I wish he hadn’t done it in some ways… but part of me really loved it.

      • Esmom says:

I hear you, believe me. He is everything Trump is not and more and maybe in another timeline he could have been POTUS but now the the Trump era has been unleashed he’s not the right guy to take back our country. Not that he couldn’t, but I think the simple fact is not enough people would vote for him.

    • NotSoSocialButterfly says:

      Agree. He should not run.

  7. lightpurple says:

Melania’s campaign against cyber-bullying is going so well, isn’t it. I reported Trump’s tweet for threatening physical harm.

    • Kitten says:

The funniest thing was in the immediate aftermath of Biden’s comments, all the Trumpflakes were acting outraged saying “can you imagine if the President had said something like this?!?! He’d be arrested!” only for Trump to then get on Twitter and threaten Biden. LMAO these people are the absolute dredges of society.

    • BearcatLawyer says:

It’s the biggest, best, and greatest campaign EVER! 🙄

  8. Eric says:

    Joe Biden?

Hell, Nancy Pelosi would kick doughy Emperor Zero’s ass.

    • Juls says:

Hell, he gets into a brawl with his hair every morning. And his hair wins. Pelosi would annihilate him. I would personally love to see her go full Rambo on Paul Ryan.

  9. happyoften says:

My money is on Uncle Joe. Trump couldn’t even get into the ring without help. He’d need a golf cart to get him ringside.

Can I say that I love Joe Biden for being every bit as ridiculous about this as Trump. At least he is aware how silly it all is. Two septuagenarians talking smack.

  10. PunkyMomma says:

Let’s bring back Celebrity Death Match — tell Cheeto he can own the show if he resigns the Presidency, and let his claymation orange character WIN BIGLY! Everyone will be LOSERS!

  11. Beth says:

It sounds like Donnie is tweeting a description of himself. Trumps tough talk and name calling is beyond childish and this isn’t how the POTUS should act

  12. Jess says:

This whole thing is so absurd. Both Biden and Trump look like drunk fools in a bar trash talking each other. And I’m annoyed by everyone who is saying Trump’s response is cyberbullying because, let’s face it, Biden started this by saying he’d beat Trump up. So this is one of the few times we don’t get to be on our high horse about Trump (and I say this as a huge liberal who hates Trump). They’re both fools. And I really don’t want Biden to run – there are way too many pictures of him being creepy with women. And we can’t forget how awful he was to Anita Hill during the Thomas hearings and he was apparently involved in blocking other women from testifying. So he is not the male ally we need right now.

  13. Mj says:

This makes Joe Biden look bad and it brings him down to Trump’s level. I love Joe and I’m disappointed. There is a reason why boys feel like they have to be tough, win a fight, and god forbid they have any type of emotions or be seen as vulnerable or scared. I feel like we are living in a reality show. This is insane.

  14. seraph7 says:

Two grown-ass men chatting nonsense. Why is this our lives?

  15. aang says:

Sadly Biden is just too old to run. I like him and his working class credentials. In a fight my money would be on Joe, he seems scrappy. Let’s elect the next president in the Thunderdome, two men enter, one man leaves. It can’t be worse than what we have now.

  16. Darla says:

I hate this. I don’t find this funny at all. Biden never should have said what he said. All he is doing is reinforcing patriarchal stereotypes about women needing the protection of a man. Thanks, but no thanks.

I mean, do I even need to mention that orange monster’s reaction? We all know what he is. But I didn’t find this cute or funny by Biden either. He’s out of touch and out of step.

    • Louisa says:

Thank you Darla, you have written exactly what I was thinking. Very disappointed in Joe. This is not what women want, we don’t need men beating each other up for us.

    • anon14 says:

Thank you Louisa and Darla. Having a man fight on behalf of a woman’s honor or name? How “chivalrous” and medieval. No thanks.

  17. BaBaDook says:

Sometimes I read a Trump tweet and for a second am shaken out of the stupor in which I’ve accepted this is the hellish reality of 2018. How the heck did that man get elected?

  18. eto says:

Nothing wrong with being fat and ugly, Joe! And please, let’s not act like attractive people can’t be predators, #metoo was literally not that long ago.

  19. Kitten says:

For all of the people chastising Biden.. I mean, this IS who Biden is and who he’s always been. This is the guy who said he almost beat up a racist Congressman to protect Obama. Sure, he’s a charming guy who has a history of fighting for equality but he’s also a fairly-alpha, tough-talking, college-football-playing Irish Catholic.

I really don’t understand all the shocked reactions. Like Trump and other Boomers, this is how a LOT of old white dudes talk.

    • Iknowwhatboyslike says:

Yes! This has been Joe Biden all the way. Tough-talking, old school guy who will bunch a guy in the face for talking down to a lady.

    • Esmom says:

I hear you, Kitten, but Trump ushered in a whole new era of insanity. I would’ve hoped Biden would have realized he shouldn’t use rhetoric like that because of the tendency toward false equivalency. It feeds the narrative that he’s “just as bad” as Trump when we know he has more intelligence, wisdom, compassion and humanity in his little fingernail than Trump does. He could condemn him strongly without resorting to saying he’d beat him up. Jmo.

      • Kitten says:

That narrative will persist from the Deplorables REGARDLESS of what Biden says or does. JFC they were already saying HRC was worse than him when she NEVER sank to his level–in fact she took pains not to. Same with Obama. Honestly, who the hell cares what Trumpsters think at this stage? They have proven that they are desperately clinging to their false equivalencies as a way to deflect from Trump’s abhorrent actions.

They voted for The Pussygrabber FFS–they have no moral high ground.

  20. psl says:

I don’t care who does it, but I’d love to see someone beat the crap out of Dolt 45.

I have yet to say his name after the word “President”. I never will.

  21. NeoCleo says:

I wish Ill douche would try some fancy footwork in a boxing ring with “Old Handsome Joe.” All those McDonald’s binges would bring on cardiac arrest and at least part of our problem in this country would be solved.

  22. NotSoSocialButterfly says:

I want to remember Joe Biden as he was in the Obama years. Scrappy, strong, fair, honorable.

Oh, and the photo of him as a young man…rakishly handsome (fans self).

  23. CrazyCatLady says:

    Pay Per View

  24. Kitten says:

Did anybody hear that Dowd just resigned? Holly hell every day is a f*cking shitshow…

    • Veronica says:

I just saw that on CNN. SOMEBODY saw the writing on the wall on that legal team, at least.

  25. Lisa says:

“Don’t threaten people, Joe” – From someone who does nothing BUT threatens people.

  26. Incredulous says:

Well, King, here comes Diamond Joe, the Bruiser Biden, down to the squared circle, ready to rumble with a twinkle in his eye!
    *Faint WOOOOO is heard*
And I think he’s met the stylin’, profilin’ Space Mountain himself to prep for this match!
    *Crowd cheers*

And here comes his challenger, Dotard Donny, the Trump Travesty Hizzownself!
*Figure pauses halfway, panting, more red than orange*
He’s pausing to hear the crowd King!
*Boos drowned out by the cheers WWE dubs in post*
*Suddenly a figure runs up behind Trump and brains, er, hits him in the head with a steel chair*

  27. Lila says:

Trump has only been in office 14 months ,but tweets like this, it seems like 14 years. I am keep looking back on the Obama years as if it was a cherished, distant memory from my childhood.

  28. holly hobby says:

He likes to use the words “fast and hard” a lot. Quality too. WTH does this mean. Sorry someone should buy him a dictionary for Christmas.

If we were placing bets I would bet on Joe. Like my gym teacher said, the way to shut up a bully is to punch him on the nose. He would think twice about bullying again. I can definitely see this here.

  29. Chef Grace says:

All of this negative energy could be put to a better use.
Puerto Rico, gun control, health care, mental illness. But no, we have two old farts exchanging Twitter blows.
    And both appear mental themselves.
We need young, fresh minds. Not more toxicity.
