Hugh Hefner wants Robert Downey Jr. to be cast as young Hef in biopic

I have a feminist confession – I really like Hugh Hefner. I think he’s done a lot for women’s rights, reproductive rights and for the first amendment. I don’t think Hef is a misogynist in any way – to me, Hef always seemed like he preferred the company of women. Shamefully, I used to watch “The Girls Next Door” and if you watch how Hef used to interact with his girlfriends (Kendra, Bridget and Holly), he tended to treat them like they were his daughters. All of that being said, I do think Hef is totally senile at this point. The man is 83 years old. It’s totally okay for him to just spend his days reading the newspaper and feeding ducks or whatever. He doesn’t need the multiple blonde girlfriends. But I suppose I could give Hef credit for trying to keep up the Playboy lifestyle while he’s still relatively cognizant.

Hef was recently interviewed by Fox News, and Hef admitted that he can’t tell his twin blonde girlfriends apart. My follow-up question would have been “Do you even care enough to tell them apart?” Hugh also confirms that rumor that Brett Ratner is going to do a movie about Hef’s early years. And Hef even knows who he wants to play “The Young Hef”… none other than Robert Downey Jr.

Hugh Hefner has been blessed with three new very gorgeous blonde beauties — two of which are twins. But despite his romantic relationship with 19-year-olds Karissa and Kristina Shannon, the men’s magazine mogul admitted at the recent Playmate of the Year party at The Palms in Sin City that he still can’t really tell them apart.

“I have one little trick, one has a little mark,” Hef said, motioning to his neck. “Other than that, I don’t know.”

The 83-year-old — who is no doubt living a life beyond most male’s wildest dreams — is also getting ready to see his trials and tribulations on the big screen in an upcoming Brett Ratner flick. And who does Hef want to play him?

“Robert Downey Jr. and I have talked about it, it’s a very real possibility,” Hef added. “Downey’s a marvelous actor, I would be honored.”

We caught up with the ultimate Playboy (and his three leading ladies of course) again last week at AFI’s Tribute to Michael Douglas where he was glowing about former flame Kendra Wilkinson’s recent pregnancy news.

“Kendra is going to be a good mommy, she’s growing up and Hank is going to be a very good influence on her. They are an ideal couple,” Hef said. “I’m sure the baby will end up at the Mansion. We do have (lots of little bunnies). We have a lot of friends and second generation Playmates, so there are a lot of kids around the Mansion these days.”

[From Fox News Pop Tarts]

Okay, the part where Hef is talking about second-generation bunnies is a little gross. But I think he means that bunnies are welcome to bring their kids to the mansion, right? Not that Playboy does a lot of mother-daughter bunny photo spreads? Because that’s gross.

I really hope Robert Downey Jr. gets cast as the young Hef, because that would be brilliant. There is even a likeness, and Downey has a somewhat small-to-medium build, much like Hef. Plus, Downey has the attitude! Awesome casting.

Nah Robert is too good looking to play Hef.

DD-I agree. I’ve seen pics of Hef in his younger days. He was def not an eye catcher. They need to go for someone who’s more homely.

  3. HEB says:

Yes he means that a lot of moms bring their kids to the mansions–probably not all the time, but they do have a few kid friendly events like the Easter party.

hell, RDjr. could play a bunny and I’d still see it. love watching that man.

I’ve never cared for Hef -or what he stands for.

  6. Maritza says:

That’s a movie I definitely would like to see and Robert Downey would be perfect as Hef.

Wow. Hefner as feminist? Seriously? The man who gave us never ending images of women with poreless skin, fake, bolted-on tits and denuded cooters. Yeah, nothing like accepting women as they are for *real* empowerment.

And f*cking three girls whose ages totaled together wouldn’t match your own? Ew! And I think I just threw up in my mouth a little at the thought of it.

My husband kept beagles. When one would die or he wasn’t happy with it he would replace it with one that was virtually identical. He liked them, but they had to fit his mode and behave as he wanted.

My husband was the Hugh Hefner of beagles.

  9. I too watched Girls Next Door, but by no means was it with shame. I think Robert Downey Jr is a great choice to play a young Hef.

He could also have a wax figure from Madame Tussaud’s play him too.

  11. Jazz says:

Don’t really care for Hef either way but I’d see Robert Downey Jr in anything.
