January Jones was miserable, foul, bored & icy at a Comic-Con party

I’ve never been one of those “January Jones is terribly boring” people. I’ve also never been one of those “January Jones is the WORST” people. I enjoy her, I really do. I think she brings some icy, vanilla bitchery to celebrity gossip and I think she’s way more scandalous and shady than most people realize. I think part of the problem is that January gives off a cold, bitchy vibe, so “Icy Bitch January” has become her default persona. So, January was at Comic-Con to promote Last Man on Earth, her Fox show with her lover Will Forte. While at Comic-Con, she ended up at a party hosted by Playboy and the movie Self/less. And January’s resting bitchface made a glorious appearance.

January Jones was a party pooper at a Playboy and “Self/less” party at Comic-Con.

The “Mad Men” actress showed up to the Parq Restaurant & Nightclub with friends and “appeared absolutely miserable,” a spy said. “She was in a really foul mood and sat by herself, chain-smoking an e-cigarette while her friends danced. She was completely disinterested, and no one knew why she was there” among guests Oscar Isaac, Michael B. Jordan, Kendra Wilkinson and Hannibal Buress.

Can one chain-smoke an e-cigarette? That’s my question. But sure, I’ll believe that January went to a Comic-Con party and sat in the corner looking sad and bored. She was probably hoping to meet some dudes there, and yes, I know that she’s dating Will Forte. I just don’t think January is all about monogamy, nor do I believe she allows a man’s wedding ring to stop her efforts. So… Boring & Miserable January Was Miserable, Bored. Classic January Jones.

Thanks for the craziness SDCC! #lastmanonearth #bestfansonearth @k.schaal

Me too,I would be miserable at a Playboy party who promotes the mess “self/less”

  2. Penelope says:

Oh well. Guess not everyone’s the life of the party. I looked forward to JJ’s scenes in Mad Men, as she owned every one she appeared in. So I’ll always appreciate and love that about her.

    • kcarp says:

I love her in Mad Men so she gets a pass from me. From the description it would seem she is actually Betty Draper 2015 complete with the chain smoking e-cig.

    • Talie says:

She totally earned her Emmy nomination for those last two eps.

    • laura in LA says:

I loved her in Mad Men, so JJ gets a “pass” here from me, maybe she was just tired…

But I can’t resist throwing Betty’s words back at her: “If you’re bored, you’re boring”!

      • korra says:

I know. I’m a little apologetic of her because 1) She’s in Mad Men and 2) She’s dating Will Forte. Either he has horrible taste or she’s a little more interesting than she appears.

  3. Dawn says:

She was great as Betty and just had that really cold appeal down pat. I had friends whose mothers were just like Betty, very cold and very judgmental. I really like seeing her softer side on her new show. Everyone has reasons to be in foul moods so I guess I won’t try and guess what set her off.

  4. aang says:

I don’t really care about her personality. I enjoy her on Mad Man so that’s good enough for me.

  5. claire says:

Maybe she was just bored because there were no eligible married men for her to have an affair with.

  6. lila fowler says:

She was there to scope out the married dudes.

  7. minx says:

I never liked her much in Mad Men. IMO she was a weak link in that ensemble–all the other actors were superb and she got by on the icy blond goddess shtick.
But on LMOE she’s actually pretty good. She had the thankless role of being the voice of reason who called out Phil Miller on his antics and she ran with it. I was surprised.
Also, not sure if she and Forte are really dating. They’ve been photographed together but I’ve heard about him and some model. He keeps his personal life pretty low key.

  8. Samtha says:

She’s awesome on Instagram, so I give her a pass. Plus, I’d probably be bored and sulking in a corner at a Playboy party, too…

  9. chicken says:

Her instagram posts make me want to know more about her, because her online presence makes her seem more human, more fully realized. Problem is, she doesn’t actively look for roles that would allow her to break out of the ice queen mold she’s created for herself. I mean, michelle pfeiffer pretty much had the same image when she was younger, but she selected roles that allowed her to exhibit much more emotional range while still reminding the audience of how standoffish and detached her media persona is. I wish january jones can be just as savvy. I don’t think she can maintain an extended career just by relying on the same persona over and over .

  10. smcollins says:

So, who else here thinks Bobby Flay is her son’s secret baby-daddy? I can’t be the only one who suspects this, can I? Or maybe I am…I don’t know…Just throwing it out there. ;)

  11. serena says:

Oh man, I mean if Kendra Wilkinson – Hef’s ex hired callgirl/girlfriend – was there… stop the presses. How dare JJ is not impressed by that…

  12. Lurker says:

I really think she’s the one that McFassy hinted was the one who took themselves too seriously on First Class, during their Yahoo Days of Future Past interview with Hugh Jackman. She’s the only one who fits.

  13. Heather says:

We live in a world where celebs are expected to vomit up their personal nonsense 24/7 on twitter, so if someone sits there and smokes an e-cigarette, it’s suddenly a total scandal, I guess.

  14. Jazz says:

I don’t have a hate on for January Jones, but I wouldn’t recognize her on the street unless she was dressed like Betty Draper.

  15. JH says:

Hold the phone- she’s dating Will Forte?! How did I not know this??

  16. Kelly says:

I love January Jones!! However this report is no big deal, maybe she was just tired.

  17. missmerry says:

I watch The Last Man on Earth, and I love the show.
She is the worst part about it.
And it’s not that she’s ‘bad’ at acting, she’s just so boring.

Everything about her, IMO, is boring.
She just STOOD THERE in X-Men. (again, just my opinion). She did not make me wonder about her character, she had no charisma nor did she even seem very badass or very sexy. She just stood there, coldly.

In TLMOE, she’s just a pawn for others to play off of because she’s ‘the hot one’, which isn’t her fault, she didn’t write the character, but I don’t believe her relationships with the others. Her lines always fall flat for me.
The other characters are interesting and funny and entertaining, she’s just like a lamp.

  18. meme says:

I like her but why was she there? Comic-Con seems to have turned into Anything-Con.

  19. Andrea says:

Doesn’t the fact she is awesome on instagram just mean she is social media savvy but perhaps an ice queen in real life? Most people on social media celeb or not, seem desperate for attention and recognition, the ones that are “cool” who post a lot etc IMO. but I am meh about social media (maybe it is my age 34). I don’t see the point in having anything more than facebook where I stay in touch with friends scattered everywhere.

  20. Murphy says:

Curse the resting bitch face! People think I’m mean when I’m just bored!

  21. MC2 says:

Hannibal Buress was invited to a Playboy party?! Is it just me or is this some subtle shade to Cosby? I’m glad his supporters are seeing the light!

  22. Jayna says:

I don’t find her cold. She was on a late night show and was adorable in all of her dorkiness regarding her love of New Kids on the Block and also Tears for Fears. She is the ultimate NKOTB fan. . She was very funny about even heavily pregnant she was at their show. Conan was making fun of her for her NKOTB love, but she didn’t care.

“In an interview on ‘Conan’, January revealed: ”I have been a big fan (of New Kids on the Block) for a long time. They’ve been touring a lot in the last, like, five years, so I try to see them as much as I can. We met them backstage and I was escorted by security backstage – I think they thought we were getting escorted out, cause we looked a little … crazy! But we met them and said ‘hi’. Then during the concert I was jumping around and screaming, and then I started having contractions. So my sister said, ‘If you have a baby at a New Kids on the Block concert, I will kill you!’ So I had to sit down every other song.”

The ‘Mad Men’ star went on to confess she’d bumped into NKOTB member Joey Macintyre in a restaurant recently, and ”totally geeked out.’”

  23. db says:

At least January’s Instagram is fun

  24. Mrs. Darcy says:

So she wasn’t the life of the party, big whoop. Sometimes you aren’t in the mood to socialize, maybe it was a promotional duty to be there. If she’d actually been rude or mean to someone or obnoxious or whatever this would be a story. Don’t think it’s fair to tar her based on non-events like this.
