Aaron & Sam Taylor Johnson at the ‘Ultron’ premiere: adorable or meh?

Part III of the LA premiere of The Avengers: Age of Ultron. I’m running out of things to say about this premiere, people! I miss Tom Hiddleston. I wish Hiddles had come out just for the premiere. He wouldn’t have had to do press, I just wanted to see him bro-out with Chris Hemsworth and the gang. Anyway, here we’ve got Aaron Taylor Johnson and his wife Sam Taylor Johnson. Aaron is one of the new Avengers, Quicksilver. Quicksilver has a weird accent and a bad wig, but I’m sure it will be fine. Sam looks pretty in pink, doesn’t she? I sort of like that they come out for each other’s premieres. Weirdly, they have one of the strongest marriages in celebrity-ville.

Julie Delpy is playing some mystery character. I like that she basically just threw on a chic sack dress over a pair of pants. I wish Angelina Jolie would try this kind of sack-chic.

Anthony Mackie is so hot. Just don’t pay attention to the sexist stuff that comes out of his mouth. He’s really hot.

Paul Bettany is getting some actual screen time in Ultron as The Vision. All the nerds are so happy! Paul looks nice here and I think he loves being a part of this franchise.

And finally, Chadwick Boseman. I love Chadwick and I think he’s an incredible actor. He’s getting his own Marvel Black Panther movie! Yay.

Everyone looks great although I think Julie D could up her style game a bit. I think she doesn’t care that much, which is cool.

I hate to say this but Sam looks like Aaron’s mom in these shots. Although after the Mary Kay/Vili madness of yesterday they seem refreshingly normal. And legal.

  2. Kitten says:

Aw I came here to see Mackie’s cute gap-tooth and all I got was some weird awkward smile :(

Cardellini and Delpy in one morning? Yay! I love Julie Delpy so so much. She’s just one of my favorites.

Also, Aaron Taylor Johnson isn’t really my cup of tea, but he’s such a beautiful guy. Really, really pretty.

    • V4Real says:

Kitten when I see Mackie I can’t help but sing.

I know something about you. You went to Cranbrook, that’s a private school. What’s the matter dawg, you embarresed? This guy’s a gangsta, his real name is Clarence.
And Clarence lives at home with both parents. And Clarence parents have a real good marriage. This guy don’t wanna battle, he’s shook. Cause ain’t no such thing as half way crooks.

A lot of people forget that Mackie was Papa Doc in “8 Miles.”

    • Tiffany :) says:

But he’s giving us the sexy lean with “come hither” eyes! That’s good enough in my book. ;)

  3. Tiffany says:

Since Chadwick is at the premiere, does that mean he will be introduced in this film. I hope so.

  4. Little Darling says:

They’ve totally and completely grown on me. Their marriage seems solid, they appear to genuinely care and respect one another and seem happy to support the other.

She’s also much softer looking these days, and he much more handsome, so something is agreeing with them both!

Ahh, but the Hiddles is so sorely missed!

    • The Other Pinky says:

I agree, There aren’t very many couples this devoted to each other. it’s cute. I’m over the taboo with these two, as long as no laws were broken I’m happy for them

    • launicaangelina says:

Their body language is telling. They seem really into one another. I understand people’s resistance toward this couple but my mom is almost 16 years older than dad and they met when dad was about 20 and mom was 35+. She also had 4 kids and they had 2 more together (including me). Sometimes, age just is a number. My parents are still together at 36+ years later.

      • runCMC says:

What a lovely story! I just started dating someone 5 years younger than me (I’m 30, he’s 25) and I really worry about the age difference although he’s mature and kind and loving. I like hearing these “age is just a number” stories :)

      • launicaangelina says:

@RunCMC I’m glad that my parent’s story helped you. Enjoy your relationship!

      • V4Real says:

@runMC your guy is 5 years younger. Well my love is 11 years younger than me.

I know some people are not with large age gaps and I will admit I tend to frown when one person is 50 and the other is 20. But as long as both are of legal age they can do as they please. I never intentionally went after younger men. When you meet someone at a bar for instance ; how old are you is usually not your first question or thought. Some people look older than they are and some look younger.

Good luck to you and your guy.

      • runCMC says:

Thanks girl :) Love is rare enough as it is without discounting it for something like age, right? Wish you two well, too!

  5. Kiddo says:

I love her for trying new action poses. She seems to be in the starting position of a curtsy.

  6. Lilacflowers says:

More Chadwick Boseman and Paul Bettany, please!

  7. MtnRunner says:

You’re not the only one missing Hiddles, Kaiser.

STJ looks pretty in that dress. Delpy looks frumpy. What happened to her??

  8. Madpoe says:

    Pretty Spring dress she’s wearing.

  9. OriginalTessa says:

I don’t find them adorable. Nothing will convince me they’re adorable.

  10. Friday I'm in love says:

    Where is Sebastian Stan????

  11. Jenny says:

It’s not hard to have a strong marriage when you’ve been grooming your husband since he was a teenager.

Also, Aaron Johnson has been HORRIBLE in everything I’ve ever seen him in (Anna Karenina, Savages, some other movie I don’t even remember the name of).

    • Olenna says:

    • jinni says:

Preach! And he is horrible in everything; the only thing he didn’t suck entirely in was Kick-Ass and even then Hit Girl out shone him in the movie he was supposed to be the lead in.
He also has a high pitched voice like Beckham that only makes his bad acting harder to watch.

      • Esmom says:

Agree about his voice although no one, NO ONE, has a more terrible voice than Beckham. I once thought he was kinda hot but the first time I hear him speak those thoughts were erased forever!

      • VirgiliaCoriolanus says:

Holy Mother, YES! Beckham’s voice sucked all the hotness out of him…..

    • Amber says:

This, this, this. It’s also not hard when your husband has (admitted, though obliviously and/or defensively) mommy and daddy issues and basically cut off everyone from his former life to center it around you. Which dovetails into your relationship being established when you were the boss and he was doing the chasing, (which they love to remind us of. ‘Cuz it would have been totally odd if she was doing the chasing, right?) I believe he’s also mentioned a disjointed, perhaps unhappy childhood. A childhood that pretty much overlaps with his intense, almost obsession (from their descriptions) with her and instantly becoming a father. (He also does not come across as the most mature and well-adjusted person in interviews I’ve seen and read.)

But that’s their business :D My #1 concern is that dude is a black hole of charisma. Bland, insincere and contrived. The type of actor that you see working up a cry, (and often failing). Just less-than mediocre talent, without notable range, and no presence beyond his looks. Which ain’t enough for me. I wish H-Wood would put him next to Alex Pettyfer and Orlando Bloom on the “We tried it: British and Bland, untalented, pretty boy” bench and call it a day.

      • QQ says:

don’t Worry about Black Holes of Charisma, The Cardboard Cut out named Chris Hemsworth it’s gonna be there so that gravitational pull of nothingness will be hard to fight

      • Amber says:

Oh @QQ – Don’t even get me started. We need another bench just for the Australians. I think the Hemsworth brothers would take up the whole thing. Maybe I could squeeze Sam Worthington and Jai Courtney on the ends. You could fill a warehouse with all the pedestrian, if not completely untalented, WHITE!, HETEROSEXUAL!!, MALE!!!, (and frequently generic looking and interchangeable) actors that H-Wood has desperately tried to make happen in just the last 15 years.

Btw, Is talking sh*t about The Greater Hemsworth (like there’s such a thing) legal in this jurisdiction? I thought I was the only one who can barely remember he exists and doesn’t give a rat a** about the dude.

      • QQ says:

Praise hand and Church Tambourine For this WORD Amber has for the Church This Morning on Blanc-Blank-Bland Unremarkable Mediocrity in Penis Carriers LOL I refer to them collectively as “Our Chris Overlords” But That aint it and definitely the Aussie Deep Bench on Bland sounds much better

It Is Legal, I know cause Im the President Of “stop Making That dude Happen” Club

      • Esmom says:

        QQ, LMAO. *Wipes tears.*

I’m not sure from where he hails but don’t forget to add Hayden Christensen to this illustrious group.

      • QQ says:

        Geppetto’s basement, That’s where Esmom

      • Beth says:

Did you catch Chris Hemsworth pissing in your cornflakes or something? He is nowhere near as bad as some of the names mentioned in this thread. *Gasp* I actually think he shows promise. But I have a feeling no matter how much he improves as an actor or he tries new things, you guys will go out of your way to rationalize your hate of him because it is cool to do so.

      • Esmom says:

        QQ, lol.

Bath, lighten up a little bit, QQ’s being funny and I don’t think people here hate on him nearly as much as you seem to want to believe.

    • Leah says:

He was good in nowhere boy and kick ass.

    • Josefa says:

I wouldn’t say he’s THAT bad, he’s just completely uninteresting to watch. I watched like 5 movies with this guy and I didn’t notice until I stumbled across his IMDB. I don’t think he ruins movies, he just contributes nothing to them.

  12. MrsBPitt says:

I still feel uncomfortable with Aaron and Sam….I know he wasn’t twelve when they got together, but I do believe he was seventeen. If one of my seventeen year old sons brought home a woman my age, I would flip out!

    • jinni says:

I was also thinking of the Letourneau thread too when when I saw them pop up on the main page.

      • InvaderTak says:

Yeah these two popped into my mind when that thread came up. The pattern is exactly the same!

      • Esmom says:

InvaderTak, at least Aaron was allowed to experience puberty before being preyed upon. *shudders*

    • V4Real says:

Actually he was of legal age. I think Aaron was 18 when they started filming Nowhere Boy. My understanding is that he didn’t meet Sam until filming started or until close to starting. She didn’t choose the cast, she just directed. No worries, no laws were broken. Though you guys may be disgusted by the age difference it was still legal.

      • Cirien says:

Wasn’t he 17 when they started filming and 18 when it was released???? because if that’s true then he was under age

      • Lilacflowers says:

@Cirian, it depends where they were. In some jurisdictions, 17 is not underage

      • V4Real says:

No, he was 19 when the film was released. Aaron is 24 now. His bday is June 1990, the film was released in Decembe of 2009, making Aaron 19. So no, he was not underage.

    • Ennie says:

I cannot imagine what my mother in law then thought of 34 year old me and her 23 yer old son (we have been together now for over 11 years).

  13. Soporificat says:

She looks very pretty in that dress, but it seems a little informal for a premiere to me.

  14. Deb says:

If I can’t have hiddles I’ll take Chadwick, hella yeah

  15. Diana B says:

Oooooh, Paul Bettany is looking mighty fine.

  16. Virgilia Coriolanus says:

I do wonder how long they’ll last. Probably longer, because of the kids…..but his recent/last interview I read gives me the impression that he’s insecure about the age difference. Otherwise, why talk about it? If it was me, and I was secure in my marriage, I wouldn’t say anything about it. Maybe because HE’S the younger one?

  17. MindlessContemplations says:

I like STJ dress a lot even if it isn’t super fancy. She isn’t there to wow on the red carpet she is there to support her husband’s role in the movie.

  18. Abby_J says:

I’m here to give love to Anthony Mackie. He is beautiful. Perhaps with a ball gag, so he can’t say anything stupid, it could work out between us.

Not surprised Hiddles wasn’t there. He is filming and all. It doesn’t really seem the same without him, though. That said, I am kind of glad that he isn’t a huge part of this movie. We are looking forward to James Spader, in all his marvelous glory, as the bad guy.

  19. FingerBinger says:

I hate the beard on Aaron. I hope it’s for a movie. I like Sam’s Miss Havisham dress. Making it a mini dress is very 21st century. Anthony Mackie is hot.

    • Santolina says:

Normally, I like beards on men but this guy’s face is too beautiful to cover up. He needs to accept that!

  20. Santolina says:

Aaron looks best clean shaven with a short haircut and not out with his predatory mommy-wife.

  21. Penelope says:

Their body language is always so loving and they ALWAYS look happy to be with each other.

  22. Cirque28 says:

I know Mary Kay Letourneau has left a dreadful taste in everyone’s mouth, but STJ is NOT MKL, 18 is NOT 12, the age of consent in England is 16, and we established some threads back that Aaron was 18 and NOT 17.

Yeah. It’s only 1 year. But if you believe that 18 is the same as 17, then isn’t 17 the same as 16? If you believe that STJ is essentially MKL who, in point of fact, preyed upon a terribly disadvantaged 12 year old starting when he was age 7 then… you are wrong and I’m not surprised by the false “STJ groomed a child for molestation” narrative.

No crime was committed. Surely what consenting adults choose to do is up to them.

    • Jenny says:

No, he wasn’t 12, but he was still a messed up teenager whose BOSS (when she directed him in Nowhere Boy) started a relationship with him. That is textbook grooming.
