Who was the cutest person at the UK premiere of ‘The Hobbit: TBOFA’?

I decided to do a separate post for Benedict Cumberbatch at the UK premiere of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies last night in London. This post is for everybody else. Since The Hobbit franchise is overwhelmingly about boys and “things boys like” (no disrespect to the ladies that dig it, but even you have to admit that it’s a lot of Boy Drama), I thought we’d start with practically the only woman on the red carpet, Evangeline Lilly. I feel a little bit bad because the only time I write about Evangeline these days is when she’s at the premiere of a Hobbit movie. But she probably likes it that way. Evangeline wore this Reem Acra ball gown which is utterly appropriate and not all that noteworthy. Like, I think she looks pretty and she looks like she loves her dress. That’s what counts. But for fashion gossip, this is sort of a snooze.

Next, we have all of the boys (minus Benedict). I’m including photos of Sir Ian McKellen , Orlando Bloom (in Lanvin!), Richard Armitage, Lee Pace, Martin Freeman, Andy Serkis and Luke Evans. I’m sure I forgot some people and I’m sure someone will yell at me! I just went with the guys I recognized, so my bad if I forgot the 15th hobbit down the list or whatever. Of this group… I would want to have dinner with Sir Ian and go home with Lee Pace. I’ve never got the Luke Evans thing, Armitage looked exhausted at this premiere and I’m never been into Andy Serkis either. Orlando’s best years are behind him too – and his hair is now completely tragic. As for Freeman… I love him. Utterly and completely. But it’s not a sex thing, I just think he’s insanely talented.

    Gandalf of course.

  2. Lindy79 says:

They all look fab but it’s always Ian McKellan

Amanda Abbingdon’s tweet about Martin was so sweet since she couldn’t be there.

  3. Belle Epoch says:

Ian can do no wrong. Well I’m sure he can, but who cares?

  4. Ally.M says:

Orlando’s giving me a Michael Hutchence vibe in the top pic with Sir Ian.

Love Evangeline’s short bob, it really suits her.

  5. Beth says:

Sir Ian wins with that scarf.

Martin looks years younger, love his fresh-faced smile.

And what is up with Orlando’s pot noodle hair?!

  6. It is what it is says:

Why does Freeman look bored/pissed all the time? He does that confused and bewildered look so well when he acts

  7. Dani L. says:

Ian wins. Though I think Evangeline looked gorgeous. Everyone else just looked so bland to me. And that’s saying something because I love me some Luke Evans. Orlando’s hair was just….terrible. Honestly terrible. What happened to his hair? It was once so beautiful and enviable! *Sad sigh*

  8. MeloMelo says:

Orly’s hair reminds me of Harry Styles.

  9. Kiki04 says:

I’ve always had a thing for Richard Armitage so I’ll throw his name into the ring……..

  10. Joanne_S says:

I’m here only for Lee Pace!
Love. Love with all my heart.

    • j.eyre says:

Orlanda’s tux is lovely but I am going to sit in the Lee Pace corner with you, Joanna_S. He looked delicious and that smile? *sighs wistfully*

      • Joanne_S says:

Let me just scoot a little, and we can sigh wistfully together. I always sigh when I see him, it’s quite embarrassing, really, but I can’t help it. Lee’s face is the only cure for my Resting Bitchface Syndrome.

    • doofus says:

Keep your dirty mitts off of MY Lee Pace, ladies!!!!

      • Joanne_S says:

I’m sure there’s enough Lee for everyone ;P

      • Lilacflowers says:

        YOUR Lee Pace?

      • doofus says:

though I did get a “shares well with others” on my elementary school report cards, so I can (UGH) share…I guess…

any of you ladies watch him in “Halt and Catch Fire”? oh, he’s SMOKIN’…

      • Joanne_S says:

“any of you ladies watch him in “Halt and Catch Fire”? oh, he’s SMOKIN’…”

You bet your sweet derriere I did! :D Decided to check out the first episode only because he was in it as I have exactly zero interest in computers, but it turns out it’s actually a very good show. I binged watched it in one Sunday:P Definitely gonna tune in for the second season.
Good thing you don’t need deep knowledge of the subject matter – be it programming, crime solving or cooking meth:P – to actually enjoy a show.

And yes, he is indeed smokin’ in it, not to mention terrifyingly believable;)

    • ds says:

Me too. His eyes… I’m really glad I get to see more of him; I’m even considering sitting through the Hobbit.

    • Lindy79 says:

He brought his parents to the premiere
      So sweet

    • iskra says:

yes, yes and 10000000 times yess. Lee is gorgeous.

    • Diana B says:

I was starting to wonder where the love for the amazing Lee Pace was. He is absolutely gorgeous and so talented!

    • Claire says:

Damm I love that man! I sat through the 2nd Hobbit and for the first time found an Elf incredibly sexy. Not even into Blondes! He is just what a man should be! For a brief time he distracted me from Tom but I have enough love for both of them!

  11. serena says:

Orlando looks tired and his hair is all kind of crazy (but I still love him).

  12. original kay says:

No Ryan Gage? was he not there?

  13. someonestolemyname says:

Evangeline’s stylist wuuurked it.(Two finger snaps) She looks stunning! wow

  14. bella says:

Richard wins !! Many reviews are saying he’s incredible in this last Hobbit. Ian is always perfect. Lee has a radiant smile. Freeman is adorable. Luke does not for me.

  15. scout says:

Sir Ian McKellen takes the cake! How cool is he?

    • Chris2 says:

Ian McK is such a delight, he’d make a cat laugh.
      • I wish our honours system had Extra-Special knight/damehoods for those without whom Britain really would still be stuck in the grim days of black & white tv, as it were.
      • These happy few should receive a castle at least, in addition to the title, plus the right to ride pure white horses through all London parks, and up and down The Mall.
      • Also, whenever such an honour is bestowed, a particularly useless and dodgy member of the (life, not hereditary) peerage would forfeit his/her title. (I’m looking at you, J. Archer)

  16. ncboudicca says:

Luke Evans is doing it for me lately, I have to say!

  17. Amariebow says:

A vote for Luke Evans! Saw him on the graham norton show and he’s a sweetie.

  18. Sarah says:

The first thing I thought when I saw the top picture of Evangeline was that her dress makes her look like she has incredibly short legs! Or maybe it’s because her arms look particularly long?! However that close up shot of her face is so beautiful! I love her hair and make-up, she looks amazing!

  19. Desi says:

Oh yes, David Freeman absolutely killed it in Fargo. How he changed from sissy to mean, calculating asshole was amazing. :-) Love him too.

  20. skippy says:

Orly is always beautiful and I would take him home in a second.

  21. **sighs** says:

He’s not normally on my list, but Luke Evans looks really good. Lee Pace looks great as well. I love me some Martin Freeman. And I always love to see Andy Serkis on a red carpet with his family. They seem like they’re a great family unit.

  22. Reece says:

Sir Ian always wins! Are you kidding?
But if were talking dirty thought inducing then Armitage FTW. Mr. Evans is looking mighty fine as well.

  23. Ava says:

Sir Ian hands down. It shows how doesn’t matter if you are older, less hair whatever……sexy and personality always win for me. He still has it.

  24. CatJ says:

Evangeline has also just published a children’s book called “The Squickerwalkers.

  25. ellesbelles says:

They all looked fabulous really. Evangeline stole it in terms of dresses, Sir Ian is always a delight. Martin has always had an offbeat sense of style, a self professed “mod”. My only meh was orlandos hair, and hes aging interestingly. Such an angular face now.

I’m excited to see this film. I rewatched Smaug over the weekend to get ready

  26. Lila says:

Orlando is yummers. Even if his hair does look like a soccer mom trying to vamp it up.

Not a fan of Evangeline’s dress. Too bridal for my taste.

  27. Bread and Circuses says:

Okay, I LIKE Orlando’s crazed Einstein hair. I’m just going to own that.

  28. LMB says:

Well, I was there yesterday and although I didn’t see everyone (Lee Pace for instance), they all looked well. With the possible exception of Orlando Bloom. When I saw him on the screen. I thought it was a very ugly woman. Sir Ian, Richard Armitage and Luke Evans looked wonderful. I actually got his autograph.

  29. icerose says:

    Ian and Luke

  30. shay says:

i’m all for the pie maker

  31. Kelsey says:

    Looked a great night 👍
