Leo DiCaprio vows to lose 10 lbs in the next 2 months: ‘He has given up pasta’

Leonardo DiCaprio has gained a noticeable amount of weight this summer. And I’ve been thinking this whole time that Leo was doing it on purpose, that he wanted to be heavier for a particular role in which he wasn’t supposed to look slender and “sharp.” But now that we’re at the end of the summer… no, I don’t think this was for a role. That Rasputin movie isn’t in pre-production and he’ll be filming The Revenant in a few months, but that part doesn’t really call for a weight gain (note: I bet his beard & hairstyle are for The Revenant though). I tend to think (now) that Leo just gained weight because he had taken the summer off, because he felt like partying and drinking and eating and having a good time. And maybe some of it was drowning his Oscar sorrows in a vat of fettuccini. Damn you, Matthew McConaughey! *shakes fist* So, what now?

After spending all summer feasting and drinking on yachts in the Mediterranean, a noticeably heavier Leonardo DiCaprio has vowed to lose 10 lbs by autumn.

“He has given up pasta – and he loves pasta,” says the source. “He also plans on working out more and he is taking his bike wherever he goes.”

But when it comes to his romance with 21-year-old model Toni Garrn, Leo’s extra girth just means there’s more of him to love! “Of course she doesn’t care,” says the source. “He’s Leonardo DiCaprio!”

[From Star Magazine, print edition]

“Of course she doesn’t care… he only lasts a minute anyway and his belly tickles.” FIXED! But seriously, if he is going on a diet… bless his heart. When you get into your 30s, you do have to pay for it somehow. You can’t spend the summer boozing and carbing and expect to just be able to shake it off in a week. And if someone told me I had to give up pasta, that would be the end of it for me. Why live in this world if you can’t have pasta? Or potatoes? Now, all of that being said… it’s not like Leo’s weight gain is so major that he looks unrecognizable or anything. He’s just got a gut now. And men always have an easier time losing weight anyway, so f—k him. *shakes fist at all of the d-bags who can lose 10 lbs by just cutting down on pasta for a few weeks*

What about the wolfpussy beard and the Hair of a hobo…are those going on a diet too? Or Nah?

  2. Kiddo says:

He looks like a bearded Stewie in that shot.

  3. Cali says:

He is one actor who goes from hot to ugh over and over again. Robert Pattinson is that way for me, too.

    • Kiddo says:

Titanic was a terrible terrible film. Have you seen it lately? You watch it and think WTH was all the hype about? It was so miscast too. I don’t think it holds up over time.

      • Santolina says:

To Kiddo’s comment (upthread), I was 7 months pregnant when Titanic was released and was avoiding anything to do with death and destruction. Later, we rented it to see what all the hoopla was about. My husband dozed off after the first half hour and I sat through this thing thinking — WTF? That’s three hours I will never get back. Subsequently, I’ve noticed that DiCaprio just has zero chemistry with his female co-stars. He can act but he doesn’t generate HEAT.

      • allheavens says:

OMG that’s what I couldn’t put my finger on. No sexual heat.

Leo is a good actor but there is no sexual tension between him and his female co-stars. The more I think about it There is always a juvenile undercurrent running through his on-screen sexual encounters. You can says it’s the characters he is playing but it’s also his interpretation of those characters.

He needs to stop the booze, lose 25 lbs, do weight training to tone his upper body and do some serious ab work, sagging skin on a man of his age is not attractive. Also get rid of the beard and ponytail it makes his face look as wide as the Grand Canyon.

      • Mrs Odie says:

He had more chemistry with Billy Zane than with Kate Winslett.

    • Mike says:

I am a guy but I never really got what women saw in him either. He is a really good actor (as long as he is not playing a tough guy like in Gangs of NY) but he looks like any other guy to me. Clooney’s appeal I understand because he has so much charisma but DeCaprio seems like a D’Bag that likes to bang women barely out of their teens. Great actor though

    • Jessica6 says:

@Mike, did you ever see DiCaprio in that FBI-Hoover film? DREADFUL! He was SO bad as J. Edgar Hoover. It was embarrassing to watch him in that. I watched this flick on a long distance flight…was bored.

@Kiddo, SO agree – “Titanic” is really not a good film. I went to see it do observe the recreation of the ship and the art direction (which was pretty good)…but the script and storyline, and the performances were atrocious. The only thing I liked about the film was Kathy Bates as Molly Brown, but her role was far too small.

  4. MollyB says:

Orson Wells is looking pretty good these days, no?

  5. Skins says:

    Not aging well

  6. Abbott says:

“Leo vows to lose 10-lbs in two months.” Looks like Toni Garnn’s contract is up. Ho! (I’ll be outside waiting in the car)

  7. sonalaceae (Nighty) says:

10 pounds? He needs to loose way more than 10 pounds…

    • T.C. says:

Ten pounds would only take off the bloat from his head. He needs to then lose 20 more Ibs.

This statement is the truest words I’ve ever read about Leo’s models:“Of course she doesn’t care,” says the source. “He’s Leonardo DiCaprio! [and filthy rich]“

      • TheOriginalKitten says:

He could lose 10 lbs by shaving that beard. But from his body, he’s got at least 30 there that would need to go.

      • Sunny says:

He for sure is carrying around a lot of bloat. He should give up drinking alcohol as well as carbs.

I wish he would give up that beard and that hair.

    • grimsfairytale says:

      Exactly. I was like
“awww, boo. No, that’s like at least twenty five pounds.”
But I completely believe he thinks he only needs to lose ten pounds, he does seem a bit out of touch with the reality of, ahem COUGH, what he looks like.

  8. bettyrose says:

    Brown rice pasta.

  9. Grant says:

At least he doesn’t have man boobs.

  10. Greata says:

…and while you’re at it …lose the nasty ‘tude Bro.

  11. Cupcake says:

    Leo can kiss my a$$

  12. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

If a female celeb had gained as much weight as he has, she would be ripped to shreds. Oh well, good luck to anyone dieting. I’ve been on a diet since 1978, so he has my sympathy.

    • eliza says:

Plenty of people have ripped Leo to shreds for gaining weight.

      • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

True,I guess, but I still think we are harder on women. I have, on rare occasions, been known to be wrong, though. :-0

      • k37744 says:

Totally agree, but if there was an actress with the same stomach, would she be landing a bevy of male models? Hells no. Double standard still riding strong. :/

      • Bubulle says:

@k37744 news flash gold digging is not a female trait.

      • perplexed says:

I don’t know if he’d still be getting roles as a lead character in a movie if he were a woman, though. Well, not as a leading lady, I don’t think, no matter how talented.

    • doofus says:

while I agree with your take on man vs. woman, I have to say…it’s nice that his weight gain was actually noticed and mentioned in the celebrity gossip world and that his desire to diet is also covered since men in that situation are usually not covered, if not outright given a pass.

      baby steps, I guess…?

  13. Triple Cardinal says:

Ten pounds in eight weeks? Just over a pound a week. This one’s easy: stop with the alcohol. The weight loss will be quicker and his liver will thank him.

But I think he needs to drop more than just ten.

  14. andypandy says:

This man used to be sooooooh beautiful now I just cant

  15. Mel M says:

    “. . . and his belly tickles”

  16. Mylene - Montreal says:

I love Leo … I love him skinny and big. No Mather what .. I’m a true fan probably. I hope a Oscar for him soon. He deserve.

  17. V says:

It must be nice to be a man, see himself in a mirror and think, “eh, need to give up pasta for a bit and I’ll be back in fighting form.”

Meanwhile, a woman could stop eating and the fat would still wave/blow her a kiss every day…and her skin and hair would riot just to amp up her misery.

  18. TheCountess says:

    ONLY ten? :)

  19. Mingy says:

Jeez, he only has a little belly.

  20. pnichols says:

I don’t get how he’s pulling so much hot tail?? He is so gnarly. Yuck.

  21. Bridget says:

Is it just me, or is this past year or so the first time that there has actually been pushback about Leo and his appearance and everything? He skated by on that Titanic aura for so long, and it’s like everyone at once realized that he’s actually pretty gross. There’s no way that this hasn’t gotten around at least to the people that handle him professionally, I wonder what we’ll see different for his next Oscar campaign. Do you think he may finally go all-in with a People SMA?

  22. Flower says:

I’ve never really been into Di Cap but he is now beginning to get that creepy, debauched, look of Jack Nicholson , a total turn off.

  23. H2O says:

When a woman is depressed she says, “I’m fat.”
When a man is depressed he says, “My girlfriend is fat.”

I can’t remember which comedian told that joke.

  24. TeresaMaria says:

I think he is a great actor (Catch Me if you Can, Aviator, The Departed) and I try really hard not to be influenced by his image as a forever party boy surrounded by young models. I think as long as he does not harm anyone with his life choices, we should just gossip about them, but not use it against him while watching his films.
I have met him personally years ago in a very strange situation and I have nothing bad to say about him.

  25. aurelia says:

Leo is giving me serious marlon brando, elvis and jack nicholson vibes. And I do not mean when they were in their prime neither!

  26. ambee says:

he looks like James Lipton in that last pic.
