Kelsey Grammer’s wife is pregnant again, his grandson is older than his youngest

15th Annual Warner Bros And InStyle Golden Globe Awards After Party - Arrivals
When I was looking through the Vanity Fair Oscar photos, I noticed that Kelsey Grammer’s fourth wife, Kayte Walsh, looked pregnant again. I made a note to potentially cover it, but it was soon forgotten in the post Oscars rush. It turns out that Kayte, 34, is indeed pregnant again. The couple made an announcement to US Magazine. This will be Kayte and Kelsey’s second child together, they also have a 19 month-old daughter, Faith. Kelsey has four other children, with three different mothers. Those other children range in age from 30 to 9. Kelsey also has two year-old grandson who is older than his daughter.

In an interview shortly after his last child was born, Kelsey claimed that Kayte, a former flight attendant, was better than all of his previous children’s mothers because “this is the first time that I’ve been with someone who actually wanted to have children with me.” He added that “Obviously I’ve been married and had children before, but this is the first time that a marvelous young woman has come into my life and said, ‘I’d love to be your wife and have your children.’” It looks like it’s all going according to schedule, because Kelsey’s rep has confirmed that Kayte is pregnant with another one.

The last time we talked about Kelsey was over a year ago, when his rep issued a wordy denial claiming that Kelsey had used a carseat for his baby despite photos showing otherwise. Before that, Kelsey was defending the fact that he brought his newborn daughter to the Playboy Mansion Halloween party. His wife, Kayte, was in costume that night as Kelsey’s ex wife, Camille, dressed as a witch. (Kelsey of course cheated on Camille with Kayte and has admitted as much. The demise of that marriage was shown on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.)

Kelsey is 59 now and will be in his late 80s by the time this baby is in college, but I doubt he cares. He seems hell bent on having more kids. US reminds us that Kelsey said last fall “I think we’ll have at least two more, if not three or four. I think it’s a great way to live a life.

I personally think one should stop having kids, once your kids are having kids of their own.

    • Lisa says:

      Words to live by.

    • AG-UK says:

Are you kidding me? That makes far too much sense for those people. A cliche and pathetic. All the money in his world wouldn’t make me want to go there.

    • Scarlet Vixen says:

I think there can be exceptions to this rule. My mum had her first kids young (she was 20 when my first brother was born) and I’m #6 born when my parents were 40 & 44. My sister eloped at 18 and my nephew was born when I was 3 (we even went to the same elementary/high schools together). My niece also started having kids young while I waited til I was 28, so her children are actually older than mine. We’re not some in-bred backwoods family. Just some unusual generational spacing. :-)

However, I think 59 is too old to have babies. My dad was in his late 50s/early 60s when I was in high school, and he was completely disinterested in spending time with me or going to school events. My mum started having health problems when I was 19, so I quit college for a long time to help take care of her and have spent my whole adult life watching my parents deteriorate. It’s sad. I can’t imagine meaning 10yrs old with a 70yr old dad who can’t even play catch because he’s afraid he’ll break a hip.

    • Miffy says:

Meh, nearly half of my dad’s grandkids are older than his youngest daughter and it’s crazy and chaotic but it’s fun.
My mom died in her 40′s and after years of depression my dad met a wonderful lady, got married and has an entirely new lease of life with my stepmom and my 3 year old sister.
Not exactly the same as this case but y’know, you can’t paint them all with the same brush.

  2. Lucy2 says:

Well, congrats, but I hope his other kids never read that. 2 kids in 2 years? The cynic in me think someone is trying to lock down her child support before he inevitably gets distracted by something shiny and moves on.

  3. MrsBPitt says:

Of course, she is pregnant again…they only had a girl child…remember, when he divorced Camille, he told her that she could have the girl and he would take the boy…I wish this nutjob would stop procreating…I don’t care that he can financially support his children. I get a real nasty, cray, cray vibe from him…

    • emmie_a says:

Nasty cray, cray — YES. I like his work but every time he opens his mouth just makes me hate him more. …But wow, his daughter is adorable!

  4. vangroovey says:

I always sense a certain sadness from Kelsey. It also sounds like he feels his other wives used him. Wonder if that is true, or if he is just a man-child in search of sympathy.

    • Delta Juliet says:

I’m sure he feels that way. He is a perpetual victim. No matter how badly he treats others around him it’s always “me, me, me”. I guess I am relating to that a little to much but I hate people who act like dicks to everyone their entire lives and then keep crying that people don’t like them. He comes across as a selfish, self-obsessed asshole.

    • Bridget says:

Kelsey Grammar is not Frasier Crane. He is a raging alcoholic and drug addict with a victim complex. He is also a total douche. Camille isn’t given nearly enough credit for the way she wrangled him for years and kept him contained enough to make Frasier and his millions of dollars – that same $$ I’m pretty sure his new wife wouldn’t touch him without.

Ugh. He is just so gross.

    • amilu says:

To be fair, his early life was SUPREMELY crappy/sad. Add addiction to the mix, and I don’t doubt that he projects a certain sadness. Who wouldn’t?

(“Many of Grammer’s family and close friends were killed in violent or accidental manners. In 1968, his father, whom he had seen only twice since his parents’ divorce, was shot dead, while in 1975, his younger sister, Karen, was abducted, raped, and murdered by spree killer Freddie Glenn. In 1980, his twin half-brothers died in a scuba diving accident; and David Angell, close friend and producer of Frasier, died in the 9/11 attacks.” – Wikipedia)

Call me crazy, but I don’t think having lots of kids is the answer to your problems, Kelsey! Has he ever had a little “me” time just to work through his many varied issues? As far as I can tell, he just goes from one woman to the next.

  5. eliza says:

I have never cared about the ages of women or men that most actors date/wed or if they have kids at 90. Rock on if that is your thing. The thing I cannot abide by is an out and out cheater and one who brags about it and justifies it. THAT is why I cannot stand this man or his thirsty wife. I am not a fan of his ex but without her, he would have been just another drugged out, broke actor. Camille got him sober and while many love to deny it, she was very much a part of his financial success by helping negotiate his Frazier contracts and developing their production company that was highly successful and produced lots of good shows. Any money Camille got, she was entitled to.

    Grammer is pathetic.

    • Lindy79 says:

I felt really sorry for her on that series of the RH, I saw it after the fact so maybe I saw things that weren’t obvious at the time but I felt you were watching a man who didn’t even try to hide the fact he disliked her and wanted her gone and was clearly moving on.
The appearance at the Tonys was so…uncomfortable, she was trying to act like everything was fine, get him to notice her and he couldn’t have cared less. It was horrible.

      • eliza says:

It definitely showed the type of heartless and egotistical man he is. BH is a lovely video love note to his children with Camille on how little he cared for their mother and how indifferent he was to them.

When she visited him in NYC with the children, his interactions with the children were uncomfortable at best. He seemed like an uncle, not used to having his nieces and nephews around. It was cringeworthy viewing.

    • Greata says:

      Agree. Well said.

    • GoodNamesAllTaken says:

Agree. He is a self-centered, selfish jerk.

  6. Amy says:

He is welcome in my home any time, as long as it’s on a TV screen. #peopleIneverwanttomeetinperson

    • Erinn says:

This. I love the characters he plays, but I couldn’t handle him in person.

I loved his daughter in Greek though. I didn’t realize she had a baby.

  7. Neffie says:

‘I’d love to be your wife and have your children.’” — And why is that?

SN:Faith is adorbssss, those deep blues.

    • MsMirna says:

Because it’s much easier to crank out kids for a multi-millionaire than earn a living as a flight attendant. Duh! :)

    • K says:

“And what was it that attracted you to aging millionaire Kelsey Grammar, Ms Walsh?”

  8. Lindy79 says:

What a nice thing for him to say about his exes, the mothers of his kids, and for them to read him basically implying they didn’t want to have kids.
    He’s such a tool.

  9. Dirtnap says:

He called his wife a “marvelous YOUNG woman” in an interview? That sounds rather paternal to my ears. She’s his wife, not someone he’s mentoring, right?

Yes, Kelsey, by all means, keep procreating. I can’t think of anything the world needs more than your spawn.

    • Suze says:

Well, he hired her, didn’t he?

So yes, she checked the boxes for him. Young, fertile, discreet. Well the last one at least so far. We’ll see what happens when the whole thing implodes. Because it will.

  10. Tapioca says:

His childhood was horrible – his dad was shot dead when he was 13, his sister raped and murdered a few years later and he lost twin brothers in the same scuba diving accident (shark attack & heart attack) – so it’s easy to see why he wants a big family.

OTOH, if he can’t understand why wife number four was so keen to get married and pop sprogs with him after THREE other failed and costly marriages, then he is stupidity made flesh!

    • blue marie says:

I knew about his sister, but didn’t know about everything else, that is a bad childhood.
The guy’s a jackass but I’ve always felt a bit sorry for him.

    • Lucy2 says:

I read a book a while ago about NBC in its heyday, and the stuff about him was…interesting. I think there’s a lot of damage there, and understandably, but I don’t think he is ever dealt with it in a healthy way. And seems to be passing some pain on to his older kids.

    • MollyB says:

He had a lot of bad shit happen to him and he seems determined to pass that damage onto his own kids. Remember the whole “I’ll take the boy/you take the girl” custody arrangement he tried to set up with Camilla?

  11. PunkyMomma says:

IDK. It seems to me to be a bit unfair to the children that they have geezer dads. But I have one friend whose parents were in their fifties when they conceived her, and she had a wonderful childhood. But both of her parents never lived to see her married, never saw her children.
The bigger issue is whether a parent is present in their children’s lives.

And Kelsey’s remarks regarding his ex’s are thoughtlessly cruel to his older children. Nice going, Dad.

    • Kiddo says:

On geezer dads, in recent news:
…”The biggest study of its kind has found that the children of fathers aged over 45 were at greater risk of autism, bipolar disorder and schizophrenia as well has having lower IQs and poorer academic performance.”Dr Allan Pacey, fertility expert at the University of Sheffield, said men should have children as young as possible….Children born to a 45-year-old man were 13 times more likely to have ADHD than those born to a 24-year-old man and were 3.5 times more likely to have autism and 25 times more likely to have bipolar disorder. They were also nearly twice a likely to have dropped out of school early and have lower IQs.
…“I think the changes start to take place when a man gets to 40, you start to notice detectable differences in his offspring My advice would be that if you are in a position to have your family early then do it, even if you want to wait a bit longer.”
The study was published in JAMA Psychiatry. (not posting a link due to moderators’ distaste thereof)

  12. NewWester says:

Did Kayte sign a prenup? If not ,no wonder she wants to have children with Kelsey. She is going to be set for life. As long as the children are healthy, happy and well taken care of I guess that is all that matters.

  13. Lindy79 says:

Is her name pronounced Kate? If so it’s adding in a letter that you don’t need and that just pisses me off.

  14. Ann says:

Ugh. Not a big fan of old men procreating to counteract their sagging virility. Advanced paternal age poses many health risk to the children of these old fathers.

  15. Tracy says:

She loves you for you, Kelsey and not because of your money. Ahahahahahahaha!!!!

  16. Ag says:

God, he’s so… icky. I guess good job on her gold digging game? Ugh.

  17. aang says:

    the baby is adorable.

  18. Dani2 says:

His fourth wife? Well that bodes well for their future.

  19. Isa says:

    That is one cute baby!

  20. Kelly says:

That is one ridiculously adorable baby.

  21. Melissia says:

I agree that he is obnoxious but please check your math. If this child is born when he is 60, he will hardly be in his late 80′s when this new child is in college. Most likely he will be 78 to 82, assuming that he is still alive.

  22. Duchess of Corolla says:

He is seriously troubled, I think.

  23. nk868 says:

that baby though….!! she’s like a gerber baby. too cute!

  24. Deanne says:

Yes, his third wife was so selfish when she stood by him and helped him through addiction. He seems to have basically washed his hands of the children he had with her. Imagine how his daughter Mason will feel when she finds out that he only wanted custody of her brother? I don’t care what he went through in his past. He comes across as an egomaniacal, immature jerk. Having trauma in your past doesn’t give you carte blanc to behave however you want, with no regard for others.

  25. msw says:

He is such an amazing actor. it almost makes me forget what a creep he is. He had such a miserable life for so long, I can understand the “f it” brand of hedonism, but the way he treats everyone around him is inexcusable.

I am curious if he got along with the rest of the Frasier cast, especially DHP.

  26. Cupcake says:

I’m just really grossed out by Kelsey Grammar and I can’t imagine having sex with him.

That being said, congrats is the only appropriate thing to say to a pregnancy announcement until the pregnant woman tells you otherwise.

    Faith is super cute!!

  27. CODY says:

“Obviously I’ve been married and had children before, but this is the first time that a marvelous young woman has come into my life and said, ‘I’d love to be your wife and have your children.’” He sounds like some guy from the 1950s, he should make an appearance on Mad Men. Cute baby, to bad she has a male chauvinist for a father.

  28. Maritza says:

    What a beautiful baby!

  29. John says:

“Kelsey is 59 now and will be in his late 80s by the time this baby is in college”

    59 +19 =78.

  30. Meredith says:

So he’s had five kids with four women. When a woman has different children with that many men, it’s considered trashy. But I guess those women aren’t as rich as Kelsey Grammar. Congrats to Kayte for hitting it (baby-wise) while Grammar is still bringing in the big bucks.

  31. Bread and Circuses says:

For what it’s worth, I believe he’s actually happy and that they genuinely love each other. He doesn’t have a great track record, but I believe him when he says his last marriage was not happy and this one is.

It’s easy to feel sorry for Camille, given he cheated on her and then dumped her for a younger woman (who was less pretty), but my gosh, when she first came on RHoBH, Camille seemed like such a comprehensively dreadful person — mean-spirited, catty, whiny, insecure, selfish, vain, and a bit stupid.

I honestly think he traded up.
