Kiefer Sutherland reprises his Jack Bauer role in London: would you hit it?

Kiefer Sutherland

These are photos of Kiefer Sutherland filming the 24: Live Another Day miniseries in London. I’ve had a crush on ol’ Kiefer since he played one of the head vampires in The Lost Boys. Does that date me? Oh well. It would have been worse if I’d cited Stand By Me, but I didn’t much like that movie at all. I know. Heresy. With that said, I would hit Kiefer always and forever. I’d hit his dad too.

Kiefer has picked up the Jack Bauer role once again, and it’s funny that people think of this as his signature role even though (to me) his 1980s & ’90s movies are much more memorable. I will still take what I can get when it comes to the Sutherlands. Kiefer’s all bruised and bloodied in these photos because a taxi just blew up. He’s helping his co-star, Mary Lynn Rajskub (who plays Chloe O’Brian), away from the scene. She looks kind of punk now, which is strange. Maybe I missed something in the final seasons of the FOX show.

A few days ago, Kiefer arrived in London to do some press before cameras rolled. He talked about the new movie he’ll be doing with Donald. They are actually going to play father and son, and it sounds like a good one:

Forsaken is the first time Sutherland has shared scenes with his real life father, Donald Sutherland in a movie. They had appeared separately in A Time to Kill. “It’s about a gun fighter who … terrible things happen,” Kiefer said. “In a gunfight he accidentally kills a child and decides it’s time for him to go home. When he gets home, he finds out that his mother has passed and he is now stuck in a house with a father that he is very estranged from.”

The Sutherlands were actually quite nervous about working together, and in fact playing father and son in Forsaken. “One of the sweetest things was I had called him the night before and I said, ‘I hope you have a great sleep, I’ll see you in the morning.’ There was a long beat and I said, ‘Just so you know, I’m really nervous.’ And he went, ‘Oh my God, thank God, me too.’ So we got to have that laugh and get that out of the way. He’s a craftsman. He has such a strong understanding of the material, writes such great backstory for his character and why his character is coming from the place that he is, such command over his voice and physicality, just all of it. I had to catch myself a lot of times because it was like going to school, and I found myself oh no, I’ve got to stop watching and actually have to partake in this though.”

I love that they were both equally nervous about shooting scenes together. That’s really endearing even though no persuasion is necessary for me to look forward to almost anything Kiefer or Donald does. They both have the same silver voice, and the script had better do them justice. Please don’t let it be one of those awful throwaway movies.

No, but I would hang out with him, because even though he’s a drunk, he seems like a terrifically fun one. And the video of him attacking a Christmas tree never gets old.

  2. Neffie says:

i love Kiefer, he has the sexiest yet most chilling voice ever. He and Jeremy Irons

  3. Lindy79 says:

I had no clue they were making another series until he appeared at the UK National Television awards last night.

@Fanty, agree, that Christmas tree video is the stuff of legend

  4. blue marie says:

Yes, yes I would, repeatedly. And I think I’d like to have him talking, that voice..
(Lost Boys is what did it for me too, although I like Stand By Me simply for River)

    • T.fanty says:

I think that every woman between the ages of 35 and 50 is still carrying a little Lost Boys crush with them.

    • Lindy79 says:

The Lost Boys was everything when I was younger.
I still watch it whenever its on and have the soundtrack on my iPod.

  5. Kristen says:

Like you, I would hit him and his dad like a pair of drums forever and ever. They’re just so hot.

Word. Kiefer’s one of my forever dongs so yes please. If Donald’s happy to jump in as well, I’m more than happy to accommodate him. Only proviso is I need dirty talk from both of them. One Sutherland in each ear, kthxbai.

    • Josephine says:

Have to agree – both father and son totally have that swagger, and those voices. Donald is so sophisticated, and Keifer is like the gruffer version – both super attractive!

  6. Feebee says:

I wouldn’t hit it sober but a couple of vodkas with him who knows. He’s looking good and he still has that voice.

  7. Belle Epoch says:

Love both of them! He looks (and sounds) great but doesn’t seem altogether solid. I’m confused – is the show for US audience but being filmed in England? I thought 24 was over? The show became too brutal for me – and as I recall it also acquired GOP overtones, like our government thought he was a real person who could singlehandedly solve our foreign policy issues. Ha.

  8. GoodNamesAllTaken says:

    Love both of them, forever.

  9. MaryBeth says:

    Y U M !

I love this man. Can’t help it. Always have, even in his not so nice days. Plus his Christmas tree attack will forever hold a special place in my heart. Yay! Jack Bauer’s back.

  11. moptop says:

Hell yes, I’d hit it, and I’d make him wear his kilt. Yum…

  12. Hautie says:

My favorite Kiefer is…. Cowboy Kiefer.

Good gracious, he really did look great during his years in Wranglers and boots. And that mustache! Then that little movie… The Cowboy Way …. is still a huge guilty pleasure of mine.

But yea, I would do Kiefer in that kilt too!

    • Nicolette says:

Young Guns, loved his look there. The hat, the duster, the boots *swoon*. And his character was so sweet you couldn’t help but like him.

  13. mytbean says:

I think he actually looks a lot better than he did when he was younger! He does have some sex appeal to me now. I remember him in Lost Boys… and in Flatliners and Dark City. I was never a fangirl for him and didn’t really get the squeee – but I didn’t mind him either. I thought he was a decent actor.

  14. Maxybabe says:

Hell yeah! Love Kiefer soooo much! I would hit that and still have time to help him save the world! Ha ha! He is so lush!! TBH I bet you would have such a brilliant night out with him, he must be top company as well as the obvious wanting to get it on!!!! In fact, after seeing the pics of him and Chloe filming in London, I whipped out my favourite box set of 24, season 5, and started to watch it again! Sad…….yes! Could’nt wait to hear his dreamy voice again. Needs desk fan and cooling system now to calm down………………

  15. Thunderthighs says:

My goodnes, YES! And if Donald feels like joining us, well *Kanye shrug* the more the merrier! :-D
I love this man! I think he ties with my forever dong, Timothy Olyphant. Siiiigh. Let’s throw Donald in there and make it a threeway tie! Can you just imagine all that awesomeness??
*Goes to look for ice cubes*

  16. Nicolette says:

Love him. Outstanding actor. He is really good when he plays a nice character, but is even better when playing someone bad/evil. He does it so well, the voice the face. And speaking of his voice, I love it. He could read Popular Mechanics to me and it would sound interesting.

  17. Unbeweavable says:

Absolutely! He’s better looking at this age than when he was younger. When he was younger he seemed really skeevy. But now, I’d hit it hard and as long as possible. He seems like he would be fu in and out of the bedroom!

  18. Jayna says:

The guy is an alcoholic. I love him in 24, but no thanks. Drunks are the ultimate turnoff to me sexually, so no hitting it.
