Meghan Markle & Prince Harry are attending his friend’s Jamaica wedding

Meghan Markle spectates from the stands on day ten of the US Open Tennis Championships

Meghan Markle finally decamped from Prince Harry’s London home, Nottingham Cottage, last week I think. Meghan had been staying in London since just after Christmas, give or take a trip to India for charity and a romantic getaway to Norway with Harry. I believed Meghan returned to Toronto because she was preparing to film the new season of Suits, as opposed to Meghan-leaving-London because she and Harry were over. Anyway, Harry and Meghan can’t stay apart for very long. Apparently on Thursday, March 2, Meghan joined Harry in Jamaica. She was his official plus-one at his friend’s wedding.

It’s a (wedding) date! Meghan Markle joined boyfriend Prince Harry in Jamaica on Thursday, March 2, just ahead of the young royal’s best pal’s wedding this weekend, a source confirms to Us Weekly.

“She kept it secret,” the source tells Us of Markle’s rendezvous with Harry, 32. As previously reported, the prince arrived in Jamaica on Thursday, March 2, to attend the wedding of his best friend, Tom “Skipp” Inskip, in Montego Bay, St. James.

And it’s fitting that the Suits actress would want to be on-hand to meet Harry’s entire crew. Markle, 35, and Harry are getting close to taking their relationship to the next level, a pal says in the new issue of Us Weekly.

“They will be engaged by the end of summer,” the insider said, adding that the pair “have spoken candidly about their future. They see a life together.”

[From Us Weekly]

The Daily Mail had more info – Harry flew to Jamaica from London, with a “premium economy” seat on a Virgin Atlantic flight. The DM notes, “an elderly woman was moved to make way for his security detail.” Er. Meghan flew in separately from Toronto, allegedly by private plane. Whose private plane? Meghan has those kinds of connections? Hm. Meghan and Harry are apparently going to spend a long weekend together in Montego Bay, with the wedding happening today, then a full weekend of wedding festivities and parties. The Daily Mail also calls it a big moment for Meghan’s acceptance within Harry’s crew, with a source noting: “This the first time that she and Harry have socialised so openly as a couple and is a significant step up in their relationship. Make no mistake, he is heads over heels about her. This one could go all the way.” The DM also notes that Meghan actually married her first husband in Jamaica in 2011 too. Which I didn’t know.

For royals, the attendance of a royal girlfriend or boyfriend at a friend’s wedding is a big deal. In the year leading up to William and Kate’s engagement announcement, Kate attended some of their friends’ weddings in William’s place, then in the week before the engagement announcement, Kate and William attended a friend’s wedding together and actually did a nice little pap stroll to the church. So I can see how Meghan’s attendance is actually a huge confirmation that Harry is going to propose this year.

“She kept it a secret” ummm she leaked this story to the press over a month ago and nice way of up staging someone else’s wedding. She has no class.

This is the first time she’s going to meet his friends? The previous reports said that she had already met his cronies? So that was fake like the ski trip that never happened.

“Head over heals about her” yet unlike his previous girlfriends, he rarely wants to be photographed with her…

Harry and Chelsy attended many events and Will & Kate’s wedding and his cousin Peter’s wedding and we know how that relationship ended.

    • notasugarhere says:

You are believing what US Magazine or the DM tells you as gospel? They’re speculating, not insiders.

Harry and Chelsy were very young when they started dating. The relationship ended. They appear to still be friends. That has no bearing on what Harry does in a relationship 10 years later.

      • Amy says:

This story was reported by numerous media weeks ago when it was leaked by your idol girl Meghan.

      • notasugarhere says:

Not my idol, don’t idolize anyone. I find the rampant spinning from tumblr fangirls interesting, especially all the new sockpuppets who have shown up recently in the Meghan threads.

      • Amy says:

No tumblr fangirl here. I simply tell the truth. You not being able to deal with that is your problem, not mine.

      • notasugarhere says:

So much spin, so little time. Frankly, if Harry ended up with someone who understands PR, it could only be a good thing. He’s allowed himself to be used and kicked 6 ways from Sunday by his father’s and brother’s PR minions. Time he had someone on his side.

      • Amy says:

She’s not on his side, if she was she would not sell his privacy and exploit his to the press. The story she leaked recently how he is not a fan of Trump (who really is?) did no good to him. She has no idea about good PR. Because she loves the attention, Harry gets dragged through the mud thanks to her never ending courting of the press.

      • Sixer says:

Through which mud, precisely, is the sainted princely Hal being dragged?

Sometimes, I feel as though I have entered such a parallel universe that I have been forced to become a monarchist!

      • Ramona says:

@Amy I’m sorry a leaked story of hating Trump would do ANYBODY good. Even Mel Gibson would get a temporary popularity bump from that one. The fact that you think that would reflect badly on Harry tells us everything we need to know about you. You are not from Tumblr, you are from the “miscegenation” hating Breitbart.

      • Tina says:

@Sixer, perhaps this is the nefarious plan. They plant sock puppets to trash his GF so we all feel sorry for her, thus giving us sympathetic feelings for the monarchy and ensuring the Establishment’s continued hold on power. The only thing I can’t figure out is where the Russian interest is, you know there’s one somewhere.

      • Sixer says:

THAT’S IT! But you can’t get yesterday’s Commons waving through of the Buck House cash past me. I will not be distracted!

      • Tina says:

God, that was so disappointing. I know we have bigger problems right now, but it at least deserved a decent debate.

      • Sixer says:

        13 minutes.

      • Dippit says:

Nah, come the revolution I expect you to clock into the barricades alongside me, Sixer.

/by “revolution” I mean long slow constitutional process starting with the HoL (no matter how many good ammendments they’ve passed lately)… and by “long” I mean we’ll both probably be pushing up the daisies.

I have no view on MM apart from not particularly liking her character in “Suits”.

      • Dippit says:

Tina, Prince George has probably already been recruited by FSB at nursery – the sand-pit is the dead-drop.

      • LAK says:

Have they voted yet on the money for westminster?

People were fixed on the Brexit vote that the BP money slipped through unchallenged. Was it Blair’s minions who popularised the adage about burying bad news /events whilst populace is distracted?

And my goodness what a distraction. The BP money didn’t even make the news.

      • Tina says:

@Dippit, I love that idea so very much.

      • Sixer says:

Haha. We thought it was just a nursery school but oh no: Vladimir has infiltrated it with a tradecraft curriculum.

    • abby says:

Nobody needed to leak anything as everyone knew about the wedding months ago. They just speculated that she would be there as well.

      • notasugarhere says:

Exactly. Of course Harry was going to be at his best friend’s wedding. If he was dating anyone at the time, he’d bring that person with him. Not news.

    • Mousyb says:

Whats with all the Meghan hate from some of you guys on here?? She seems harmless/has had her own seemingly fulfilling life outside of him for years now. I doubt this was her end game unlike Waity…

Some of the press (namely from the DM) about them was super annoying from the beginning but it seems like hes really into her and I think its sweet.

      • loveotterly says:

I really like her. I think they have the potential to be a major power couple, they both seem very charismatic and enjoy charity work.

      • New_Kay says:

Yeah- they backed off because they were called out on their racist BS

      • JRenee says:

Seems to be just one or two with multiple post, every article, saying how horrible she is…almost seems personal at this point. So much time devoted to spewing negativity about this lady, repeatedly. ..
We get it, you don’t like her with Prince Harry.

      • Fluff says:

Nearly everyone here either likes Meghan or is neutral on her or plain isn’t interested in royals. It’s just one obsessed fan who’s been busted posting under multiple usernames who absolutely froths with rage at the idea of Harry having a girlfriend.

      • Lady says:

@Fluff The negative maniac posting rubbish hates the idea of Harry having a girlfriend who is not 100% white – you know that euphemism for black, having “no class”. It’s pure racist bullshit!

    • ash says:

Amy does it blow you that Prince Harry intends to make a brown woman /beige woman his princess…. and not the time ol blonde, waif, young & lazy ass, socialite aristocrat???

      • Susannah says:

Amy’s problem may not even be that Meghan is a beautiful woman of color.
It may just be that Meghan is with Harry and Amy is not. So all that making of those “Amy + Harry” Pinterest wedding boards and photoshop of putting her own face on every girlfriend that Harry’s ever had isn’t getting her anywhere, so she’s a bit grumpy.

      • SusanneToo says:

Amy sounds like the twin of that girl on the Fassbender threads who goes psycho about Alicia Vikander.

      • New_Kay says:

She’s black Ash- she’s American and theirs the one drop rule. She’s black. Let’s own that.

      • Olenna says:

Y’all are being too kind. Whatever happened to *crazy*?

      • Scotchy says:

@Susannah, you made me audibly giggle at my screen!!
@New_Kay hate to be the beige patrol but she isn’t black, she is beige and American..
I wasn’t aware that Britain had some sort of one drop rule that negated half of your genetic make up. I thought that was only in Murrica during the slave days…

Feel free to let me know if I am wrong. I do love learning :)

      • Sarah says:

It’s funny to see women call another woman jealous, racist, etc., defending a woman they don’t know and will never meet.

      • Fleur says:

Meghan is absolutely gorgeous, highly intelligent and articulate. Prince Harry melts me into a puddle, but the truth is he, he is LUCKY to snag a woman as beautiful and accomplished as Meghan.

The comment re: Fassy and Alicia Vikander is spot on. There are some people out there who spit nails on every Vikander post because they can’t stand her dating him. Looks like some people feel the same way about Harry…

    • oce says:

@Amy, why does Meghan’s #BlackGirlMagic have you blowing your top like Mount Saint Helen? Anyway, let’s watch their royal wedding together! People like you make me laugh SO much.

    • BJ says:

Dang , did Harry dump YOU?
IF she leaks stories then obviously he doesn’t give AF since he is still with her.

      • OriginallyBlue says:

    • Hype says:

@amy you seem so pressed about a man and woman who have no idea about your existence. Girl chill, step outside and breath. Harry doesn’t need your protection, his perfectly safe in Megan’s arms

    • Snowflake says:

I can’t wait to see their pretty babies! Squeals

    • Sarah says:

She was in England for months, with two pictures. They love to eat at a place where she met him, where all of his friends go, but she never met any of them. She is getting written out of her show, but is back working.

I think no one has a clue about any of this. Where is the proof either of them are in Jamaica? Just seems like there would be some pictures of some sort. No? I like gossip, but this is just conjecture.

      • Fluff says:

        Stop name-changing, Amy.

How the hell would you know which of his friends she’s met or not met?

      • Polly says:

There is proof that they are both in Jamaica – there are pics of them together on the daily mail (sorry can’t remember how to link). Meghan looks lovely although it looks like she borrowed one of Kate’s ruffled erdem frocks.

  2. Merry says:

Hurry up with that proposal Harry. I have my dress picked out, I know exactly which sofa I’ll be sitting in, my mum is totally coming over to watch this one, all thats left is to buy the wine.

    • notasugarhere says:

What else goes on the menu? I’d say traditional fruitcake, but yuck. (Apologies to everyone who likes that sticky concoction. More fruitcake for you). Maybe the chocolate biscuit cake HM likes so much, topped with candy swans to please Sixer?

      • LAK says:

I love fruitcake. I will take your share😊

      • SusanneToo says:

I love fruitcake, too. Send them all to me. They last forever.

      • Fluff says:

I don’t mean to brag, but I make amazing fruitcake. My dad (like many of his generation – I blame being raised with rationing) adores fruitcake so every Christmas I have to make him one, and it has to be one that is palatable to the rest of us (ie generation raised on chocolate fudge cake and salted caramel).

My current recipe has crushed tinned pineapple and macadamia nuts in it, plus mulled wine-infused caramel. Or sometimes I make one with tea in it.

      • Sixer says:

My nanna used to make an amazing tea loaf.

This cake-related content has made me remember bread and butter pudding and I think I am going to go and make one.

      • Spiderpig says:

I hate fruit cake and I hate bread and butter pudding. Sorry(notsorrry).

I’m gonna go sit in a corner with my banoffee pie and my shame at my lack of Britishness.

      • bluhare says:

My mom still makes an amazing tea loaf, Sixer. She hasn’t made a fruit cake since my dad died. He was the one who loved those.

And I love bread and butter pudding!

      • graymatters says:

What is bread and butter pudding? I’ve never heard of it, but it sounds Dickensonian, if that’s a thing.

Also, did you ever make the rum topf? How did it turn out?

      • Sixer says:

Spiderpig! Turn in your Britisher card RIGHT NOW!

I made one. Yumptious. Here you go, graymatters (not got around to the rum topf, mea culpa):

      • Lady D says:

mmmmm, I make bread and butter pudding at least twice a month. My grade 9 Foods teacher was English and I owe her so much. I’m still using the methods she taught me.

      • Mary mary says:

        Only here for the desserts.

        Dessert Buffet Menu: Petit Fours
        Lemon Champagne Sorbet
        Marizpan swans
        Sparkling champagne gelatin

Sparkling champagne for sipping of course.

Wedding Cake … White icing with a hint of lemon

    • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

And the fascinators and hats. Don’t forget the 🎩

    • Sharon Lea says:

I’m ready to watch them too! As an American, I don’t get fruitcake at a wedding, but will have some at Christmas. Wonder if they would do a fruitcake and a white cake?

    • Abby says:

Can I come? I have a fascinator and everything!

    • graymatters says:

Much like my bread pudding, then, but fussier. That’s diced bread pieces, either old or dried out a bit in a very low heat oven, mixed with dried fruit (we love dried cranberries) and maybe nuts. Then pour a sweetend, spiced milk and egg mixture over it all and cover with cling film and let sit overnight in the fridge. First thing in the am, put in oven for about an hour. It’s a nice weekend breakfast with maple syrup.

Whoops! This was meant to follow the foodie thread above. Sorry!

If you’ve got a lot of old “healthy” bread like wheat, rye, etc., then mix it up with bits of sausage and drained, thawed frozen spinach. Use less sugar and different seasonings and serve with a salad for lunch or light dinner.

      • Lady D says:

I usually add chopped apples and raisins with the dried cranberries. It never occurred to me to add nuts. Pecans here I come. I saw one recipe that called for chunks of caramel and chocolate chips, covered in a toffee sauce. Diabetes in a dish.

      • graymatters says:

And that would be the dessert version. Or add rum-soaked raisins and coffee granules (dissolved in the milk mixture), served with a chocolate sauce. So many uses for old bread, it’s a wonder anyone eats it fresh.

      • HappyMom says:

Yum-I do this with leftover challah. It’s so good.

waiting for the obligatory “i don’t think they’ll make it down the aisle” comments …

    • SilverUnicorn says:

Followed by “they won’t make it to one year together”.

I want to rename this particular commenting syndrome ‘Cumberbatchitis’, in honour of Benedict Cumberbatch who was never supposed to marry or have babies or stay together with his wife for long but he has made it to the second kid 😂😂😂

      • Layla Beans says:

Hahahaha! Yes, Cumberbatchitis! Perfect name for the butthurt fan girls mad that he’s not choosing them. LOL.

      • Ramona says:

Haha. I love it. Cumberbatchitis, commonly known as “Jealous Bitch” is a disease caused by the virus R Pattinsonzia. It is most prevalent among weak minded women who maintain fantasy lives revolving around a famous eligible man. Symptoms can be mild to severe. The most common symptoms include: frothing at the mouth at the mention of their idols love interest, delusions of media conspiracy, running multiple commenting accounts across the internet, typing angry nonsense on comments sections and frantically refreshing their browser to respond to critics. If untreated can lead to death of self respect.

      • Layla Beans says:

@Ramona – hahahahaha! That’s it to the letter!

Related illnesses: Fassbendermania; Carpal Tumblr Syndrome

      • Sixer says:

My point of origin for all this stuff was stumbling across some Larry Shipper crisis or other on Twitter a few years back. My eyes boggled.

So can I call it LarryShipperitis?

      • notasugarhere says:

Sixer the Fabulous, you may call it whatever you like.

      • nic919 says:

        Ramona wins the internet today.

      • Secret squirrel says:

Great comment Ramona. It just needs to be narrated by David Attenborough!

    • Sharon Lea says:

And the, ‘it’ll end in tears’

    • what's inside says:

Oh Ramona. That is priceless. What picture is going to be placed next to it as a description of it?

  4. Trixie says:

    1) If “She kept it secret” then why do multiple outlets have quotes about the trip?

    2) Harry brought Cressida as his official plus 1 to a friend’s Caribbean wedding when they dated. Harry brought Chelsy as his official plus 1 to Peter’s wedding and William’s wedding. So Harry bringing Meghan to this Caribbean wedding is not a huge confirmation that Harry is going to propose this year.

    3) So many people are upset that William and Kate *may* go on a vacation sometime soon, but Harry has gone on more vacations this year than William and Kate have. Harry has already gone on two vacations this year.

    • Bridget says:

It’s Us Weekly. That’s the outlet Harry or someone on his behalf has been leaking to. Also, it’s not like Skippy’s wedding is a secret – people would have already been keeping an eye out for Meghan.

      • Amy says:

Harry and his team do NOT leak stories of his personal life to tabloids, Meghan does.

      • Trixie says:

Clearly it’s not secret if they are leaking the stories.

      • notasugarhere says:

Amy, you have absolutely no proof of that. You seem to desperately want to believe it, but have no proof. Of course Harry was going to attend his best friend’s wedding, and it is likely that his girlfriend would attend it too. No surprise.

      • Amy says:

Obviously it’s not a secret since Meghan and her friends constantly tell stories to the press. Meghan is best friends with Jessica Mulroney, who works in PR Marketing. Jessica knows Lainey and leaks stories to Laineygossip. That’s just one of examples of Meghan and her never ending leaks to the media.

      • Amy says:

Lol sure so where is the proof that Harry is the one behind the leaks? I’ll wait……

Meghan refused to go to her co stars wedding as to not up stage the bride (LOL) but she has no problem going to Harry’s bf’s wedding. You have to stop living in delusion.

      • notasugarhere says:

Again, ames, no proof. You have what you want to believe, now you’ve show up on a new forum (unless you really are kitty), to spew it to try to convince people. Unfortunately for you, the majority of posters on here can see through it. Been around that block before watching the fangirls spin over Cressida.

      • Bridget says:

@Amy: EVERYONE leaks stories. I mean
, are you familiar with the royal family? Celebrity in general nowadays?

      • Luca76 says:

They’re leaking together lol. To prepare the public for the engagement. Isn’t it romantic 😄

      • swak says:

@Amy – girl you need to get a life!

      • Merritt says:

Oh Amy you keep up with that delusion. Details of Harry’s private life have been leaked to the media for years. Long before Meghan was ever on the scene.

      • NotSoSocialButterfy says:

Amy, the depth ( and frankly, viciousness ) of your convictions over something that has nothing to do with you is nothing short of disturbing.

      • Amy says:

Well prove me wrong. Oh that’s right, you CAN’T because you have no proof what I’m saying is false so the only thing you can do is call me a tumblr fan girl or say that I use different names. LOL

Unlike you, I don’t have to convince anyone anything. Everyone outside of CB sees it. Her own family despises her. I simply tell the truth.

      • oce says:

@Amy, let’s watch the Royal wedding together. I will bring my friend’s Xanax and tissues for you and a bottle of champagne for me! #BlackGirlMagic

      • Sixer says:

        Everyone outside of CB?

99.99% of people I know would have no idea that Bluff Prince Hal even had a girlfriend, whether she be persona non grata or the new Mother Theresa.

      • Becky says:

Amy, source for this information please?

You’re the one making the assertion, so other posters are only asking you to back up your claims, not the other way round.

    • abby says:

      1) Because everyone knew about the wedding months ago. There’s no leaking involved.
      2) No he did not. They both attended Missy Percy’s wedding in Noththumberland, because they both were invited. Cressida did not go to Guy Pelly’s wedding in the Us- it is believed they broke up right before. About Chelsy: they’ve been dating for several years at that point.
      3) He’s been to Norway at a time when NO royal did any work and is now in Jamaica for a friend’s wedding. We don’t know about every trip the Cambridges take, they go weeks without engagements…

      • Trixie says:

I did not mention Percy’s wedding nor Pelly’s wedding, so I have no idea why you brought up either of those. There was a Caribbean wedding Harry and Cressida went to together, I don’t remember whose wedding it was.

Who cares when Harry’s Norway vacation was, the fact is that he took it and no one cared. But everyone flips out when the Cambridges take a vacation. I think that’s stupid. They all should get called out on their numerous vacations – it’s not like any of them work hard.

Also, in the DM article it said Harry moved an elderly woman to make way for his security. If William or Kate had done that, everyone on here would be calling them rude jerks. But no one cares when it’s Harry.

I am most definitely not a fan of William or Kate, but I am also not a fan of Harry and think he should be called out just as much as the other two.

      • Sushi says:

The elder lady could have been moved higher up. Airline normaly upgrade, not downgrade.

      • notasugarhere says:

Harry didn’t move her, his security detail did. It wasn’t like he was asking for the window seat. When it comes to security, it makes sense.

It does speak to them maybe choosing this particular flight last-minute, to avoid the paps. He was always going to attend this wedding. Given how some airline employees leak like sieves (re. Norway), monitoring open seats and grabbing this flight last minute could have happened.

      • oce says:

@Trixie – people rip on the Cambridge’s because they NEVER work and ONLY Vacation. Harry is ALWAYS working and goes on a few vacations. Don’t be so thick to not recognize this. We rip on Beatrice vs. Eugenie over the same thing! I think CBer’s are equal opportunity rippers!

      • Lady D says:

“Also, in the DM article it said Harry moved an elderly woman to make way for his security.”
Please don’t believe anything the DM says, or at the very least, don’t repeat as fact.

  5. notasugarhere says:

I hope the resort has plenty of security in place, to keep the intrusive photographers and helicopters away. Glad H&MM are able to keep under the radar. Upsets all the fangirls who want “proof” they’re dating. They’ll never understand the less we see these two at this stage, the more important this relationship likely is to them.

    • Trixie says:

The same thing happened with Cressida. They were dating for quite a long time without being photographed together so many people conspiracy theoried that they weren’t dating at all.

    • Maria says:

Fangirls can’t be happy about this latest bit of news. Especially those who insist that there is no relationship, that it’s a myth.

      • notasugarhere says:

Just wait. If there end up being any photos taken of either H or MM at an airport? Fangirls will use the angle of the sun, the color of leaves outside, and clothing being worn to “prove” it is an old, staged photo from December.

      • Susannah says:

Some of these conspiracy/myth theories are telenovela-worthy or straight out of a spy novel.
One person said that even though Hary and Meghan aren’t together anymore, Meghan was going to book a room at the hotel in Jamaica so she would be seen there and everyone would think they were still a couple.
I loved that one since it covered all the bases. If there isn’t a photo, then they’ve broken up but if there is a photo of her in Jamaica, it’s OK because it was staged by Meghan because he broke up with her months ago and she’s trying to keep the story going.

  6. Luca76 says:

Lol some people are going to be devastated by this allegedly impending wedding. Can almost see the steam coming out of their heads.

    • SilverUnicorn says:

      I think so 😂

    • Bridget says:

I don’t really get it. She seems like a nice enough lady. It’s not like Harry is going to choose his bride from the Comments section of the Daily Mail.

      • notasugarhere says:

+1. She seems fine to me. I don’t watch Suits, I’m not a fan of hers. I defend her against what I see as the abject, ridiculous trolling by unhappy fangirls. MM works for a living, can survive without her mother 15 feet away, does charity work, knows how to give a speech. Good material here for a working royal, if these two decided that was what they wanted.

      • Tina says:

LOL Bridget. That would be amazing.

      • Bridget says:

@Tina: “That user has been defending me the MOST steadfastly and knows every detail of my life! Clearly, someone so loyal is meant to be my bride”

    • NotSoSocialButterfy says:

Some of them are here and showing their pain already.

    • Susannah says:

I think a few are coming around to the idea they might have to witness a wedding. I’ve already seen some comments like, “Even if he DOES marry her, it won’t last” so they have contingency plans to explain it away, just in case!

  7. Citresse says:

Markle has connections to the Mulroneys and they have all sorts of connections worldwide. A private jet is unusual unless Harry has already proposed? I may be wrong but I just don’t see Harry settling down until he’s around 40.

    • Trixie says:

Or maybe Meghan just paid for a private jet herself? Not sure why it’s assumed that the only reason she used one is because of connections. She has money, so I don’t see why she can’t just pay for one if she wants one.

      • Luca76 says:

I doubt she has private jet money. First class money sure.

      • QQ says:

I was coming to say that!!!? Like what’s with the pre supposition that a globe trotting already busy already worjking , Visible grown woman that had her own Charity thing/blog/recurring appearance in a watched show on cable Couldnt scrounge the money together to travel to a Regular ass location in the Caribbean!!, I mean come on there is reaching and then there is this shady Yoga Stretch

      • Luca76 says:

@QQ private jets are hella expensive and she is an actress on a mid level cable show.Im sure she can afford to pay her own way but If she’s splurging on private jets she’s going to go broke. Private jets are for the mega rich like Taylor Swift etc. Because the prices are exorbitant.

      • notasugarhere says:

Rumor of her networth is $7 million US. Private Jet doesn’t mean she’s solo on the plane, it means not a commercial flight. If it was a private jet with a handful of other passengers, not that expensive.

      • OriginallyBlue says:

You can rent private jets. The fact that she is famous-ish before Harry, but especially now she could have gotten a really good deal. Or she might have paid for it, she has 1 endorsement deal that I know of plus the show money.

      • Bridget says:

If someone was already going to Jamaica, I can see Meghan catching a ride. But a private plane would cost about an entire episode worth of pay for Meghan if she paid on her own (if not more).

      • Starryfish says:

People are always reluctant to believe that black people can afford stuff, they always assume there has to be some grifting involved. It’s like how people complained about every penny the Obama family spent, like they aren’t rich and can afford stuff. Folks were always hollering about “how’d she afford that dress?!?” Uhh.. with the millions of dollars that they had in the bank, just like other rich people. Duh.

      • Bridget says:

More like “people are skeptical that the 3rd lead on a USA show has private jet money” but okay. I’d ask the same question of Tiffani Thiessen flying private.

      • Luca76 says:

Starryfish it was said above that she has 7 mill net worth for you and me that’s a ton of cash but that’s not Oprah/Beyoncé private jet/yacht level money. Has nothing to do with race.

      • Bridget says:

@Luca76 – those net worth estimates are usually junk. They go off of everything an actor/actress has ever made, and gross at that. No taxes, agent’s fees, managers – all those percentages. Let alone what she actually lives on and spends. I don’t doubt that Meghan makes a nice chunk of money and lives comfortably. But unless she has some other income coming in aside from her main acting gig, that woman isn’t worth $7 million. Not to mention, that’s still not private plane money – the younger royals (including Harry) don’t have private plane money of their own either.

      • Spiderpig says:

        High five, starryfish!

      • Eden75 says:

Well, a light jet aircraft from Toronto to Jamaica starts at about $24,000 USD. The only class of flight from Toronto to Jamaica (via Air Canada) is Business class and those seats are about $2600 USD. I dunno. If I was dating one of the highest profile people on the planet, I may want to take the private one too. It’s not near as expensive as it could be and that price is quoted without any discussion with the company. Most of the time, you can work out deals on those types of flights.

      • Lady D says:

Tiffani is worth more than 10 million. That’s private jet money.

      • Jeesie says:

It’s not about race or thinking she couldn’t scrounge the money together, it’s just very rare that anyone making what she does would travel private. I’m worth about what she’s assumed to be, a very frequent traveller, and a major spendthrift, and I consider first class a big splurge. A few million goes a long way, don’t get me wrong, but there’s a very drastic lifestyle leap between that and having tens of millions lying around.

I just looked it up and her actual salary is about $400,000 pre tax and agents fees and all that. Let’s say her endorsements make up for what’s taken out. That’s a lot of money, yes, but not so much for an actor who could find themselves out of work at any time, and even if you can count on it, it’s not private jet money unless you make that your main priority over accomodation and investments and other aspects of travel.

A private flight would cost at a minimum 1/16th of her yearly earnings. It’s doable, for sure, but still a very bad financial choice, especially when we’re talking about such a common and short flight. I know many people who do fly private regularly, but they’re all people who could lose $25,000 and never notice. Someone making at most $400,000 a year, while obviously wealthy, is not in that category at all.

    • PIa says:

Meghan is very connected, from the Soho House scene (which is how she was introduced to Harry) to the Canadian government scene (the Mulroneys, the Trudeaus).

      • Loopy says:

Can’t you rent a private jet for like $25,000..and I think private jet company have packages, if you are a frequent flier with them its not as expensive that’s why the Kardashians are forever on private jets.

      • Eden75 says:

Yes, you can rent them that ‘cheap’ and yes, they also have frequent flier plans.

    • imqrious2 says:

A private jet isn’t that odd. There are options: 1. On loan from the network (most do have a corporate jet). 2. A friend 3. A private company that “rents space” on private jets. I’ve gotten mailings from a few companies that sell seats on smaller, private planes that are not in use (charters, etc). For pretty much the price of a regular ticket, you can fly “private” with a few other people in one of these smaller jets. I’ve been very tempted to try it (and I just may for my next trip)!

      Anything to cheer up winter.

      • Maria says:

Nota, a little bit of lace please. Dont’t forget this is going to take place in December at St Martins. We need some lace to go with the snowflakes.

      • notasugarhere says:

I might concede to a small amount of lace trim on the veil. Would that work?

      • Maria says:

Well, we don’t want a plain and boring dress. I vote she wears Valentino. He will make her look gorgeous. Doesn’t Megan look like Pippa in that pic?

      • Can'tRecall says:

NO. Meghan doesn’t look like Pippa in any picture unless you mean they both have brown hair and eyes.

    • Sixer says:

FLYING ELVI will be the least of Harry’s worries if this whole thread is anything to go by.

I am constantly staggered that people bother to create fantasy scenarios that do nothing but make them angry all the time. My fantasies are designed to make me (and everyone else, hopefully) laugh – because, you know, fantasies should be happy things.

      • notasugarhere says:

That’s because you are both a voice of reason and a voice of fun.

      • Sixer says:

Why torture yourself so? This is what I don’t understand.

      • notasugarhere says:

Because they hope that if they attack this woman enough, Harry will see the light and marry them instead. Why look for logic, Sixer, when they’re functioning in a world of fantasy fiction?

      • Tough Cookie says:

I am a huge fan of your happy fantasies, Sixer!!

      • Tough Cookie says:

OMG you just made my ’80s self swoon…..Gloria TNT vs Sarah Ferguson….ahhhhhhh

All these magazines know nothing. I still laugh about the Daily Mail which wrote that they were definitely together in Norway but then suddenly they changed their tone and asked the KP about it.

    • Can'tRecall says:

They didn’t change their mind and all stories they run by KP knowing KP will not respond. I laugh at how little tumblr trolls know and how willing they are to make stuff up.

  12. Indira says:

Thanks for choosing that photo, Kaiser, it made me laugh.

    • suze says:

Kaiser is very good at photo choice.

I like Meghan, I think she is accomplished and smart, but that is exactly the type of posing she will have to rein in if or when she joins the royal family.

  13. Mikasa says:

I kinda like her – BUT I also think she’s thirsty and her PR team and she are playing game with the tabloids etc.

    • Can'tRecall says:

Yeah, I can see how you would get that impression considering she hasn’t said a word and has been extremely low profile…unless you consider her being stalked to yoga thirsty. I esp. laugh at how she and Harry have used the tabloids and paps for their own purposes.

  14. notasugarhere says:

To answer someone’s (LAK’s?) question from another thread. Where have the thoughtful, history-minded posters gone? I know, it is difficult to wade through the sockpuppets and tumblr fangirls to find them here right now.

Some are still here, others have decamped to KMR and LLH. There were some on The Royal Forums, but even that forum had to shut down the Meghan and Harry thread because of the rampant, obsessed, unhappy fangirls spewing their libel. I hope RI follows suit, because they’re allowing 2-3 trolls to destroy the forum’s (relatively) good reputation.

    • Maria says:

Well fan girls were adamant that the couple could never never marry in COE church. There was a fair amount of back and forth on that topic, now that they have lost that battle, they are adamant that they will never marry. End of story. Somehow they are in possession of the truth, and the rest of us are just plain wrong. Not a very intellectual discussion, I would say.

      • Citresse says:

Would Harry be permitted to elope if he wanted or would that be too much for HM to accept?

      • Bee says:

Yeah, like could he just marry on a beach somewhere? Does his position mean he HAS TO have the full-on London church wedding with all the bells and whistles, and crowds?

    • Adele Dazeem says:

Notasugar…not that I’m leaving celebitchy, but what are those other acronyms of which you speak? I know the royal dish (thanks for showing me that rabbit hole lol) but unaware of LLH and KMR. Oh and RI.

      • Elaine says:

Acronyms: KMR: Kate Middleton Review. Great site. The blogger takes a lot of care in her posts.
LLH: ‘Love Lola Heart’ The funniest site on Kate EVER (next to you of course, Kaiser ;-) She doesn’t post that often but when she does…wowee!
RI: Royal Insight Forum. I’ll let someone else speak about this board. I used to lurk there for gossip on Aristocrats, but since ‘Miss Bliss’ and ‘AnitaLaLA’ left it hasn’t been the same :-(
        Uh, yeah. I like Gossip.

      • Adele Dazeem says:

      • Elaine says:

and glad we are to have you! You missed a few posts and I was like -Have we lost our SIXER?!!

Chuffed about Megs and Hazza. Sooo ready for their nuptials.

      • Sixer says:

If the posts were royal fashion-oriented, that’s probably why I missed ‘em. No matter how I try, I have nothing to say on the topic of clothing!

      • FrostedFlakes says:

I’m still here… just sick and tired of the tumblr hobgoblins… who are now so obsessive its disturbing… I only jump in when I can no longer hold my tongue or fingers… BTW, its not a big deal to catch a flight on a private jet… a friend of mine is a pilot for a private jet company … he flies celebrities and company executives across the globe on a daily basis

There is something called Empty Leg Flights… flying private is not as expensive as some people think… you don’t have to be mega rich to afford it… and many times the Rich hitch rides on planes like we the common folk hitch a ride in a friend’s car who may be heading to “wherever” for the weekend… or for whoever’s party (or wedding)…

So yes, Meghan can afford private jet money… if she can spend $x,000 on a handbag or pair of shoes, why do you NOT think she can afford the privacy which she probable needs at this stage? Plus The Tig does make money as well…

      • brincalhona says:

Are we British Republicans really still the minority? The only thing that scares me these days about having a President is that folks would vote for Nigel ‘kin Farage. Can’t bear chinless Douglas Carswell but happy he’s annoyed Toad of Toad Hall.

      • Sixer says:

Still two-thirds to three-quarters in favour of retaining a monarchy, I’m afraid.

That said, nobody conducting these polls ever elucidates the type of head of state to replace the monarchy – symbolic like Ireland, executive like US/France et al. I do think there’s no appetite at all for an executive president but if people understood there’s another way to go about it, I think they might be more receptive.

      • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

Given that we have W&K to look forward to I might be looking to join your republic militant group Sixer. What do i get when i join up? A spiffing badge for my lapel? Secret handshake?

      • suze says:

        Hi Sixer,

I’m here – I was here at the beginning, pre Kate and Wills nuptials. But these threads are just tiring now. It’s not just the “tumblr fangirls” or whatever we are calling the naysayers, but the Meghan and Harry fans, who are draining.

It’s just a group of people who can’t stand this woman shrieking at people who are almost scarily over invested in their relationship, or at least in the most perfect royal who ever lived, Harry, now.

I miss the critical thinking about the monarchy that used to be evident around here.

      • Lady D says:

@Digital Unicorn, you get a fruitcake.

    • Digital Unicorn (aka Betti) says:

I have found that of late the Royal threads seem to be have been hijacked by sugars who will jump on you for critiquing Kate or Meghan – this is a celebrity gossip site FFS. Plus there are a LOT of new/one time posters on those threads esp the Meghan/Harry posts. There used to be such good discussions.

I love history – esp the royal sort and I enjoy it when some of the threads go off on those tangents, you get to learn something new. Same goes for the political posts.

Where have the intelligent posters gone! Come back.

PS. That Royal Gossip site is very b!tchy. I made the mistake of going down that rabbit hole – they are really nasty about Kate and her family and I am no fan of them either.

      • HappyMom says:

I fell down the CPM rabbit hole on one of those sites (maybe Royal Dish?)-the vitriol for her is crazy!

    • bluhare says:

It was me, and my point is made that I just looked at this on Saturday, and not Friday morning as I would have a while ago. And am confronted with a conspiracy theorist of the first order and (other than Sixer’s wedding fantasy) nothing of any interest. I used to be all over the royal threads. They were interesting and we had fun too.

And, no offence nas, but there aren’t many intelligent posters on those sites either. It’s mostly the usual regurgitated haterade although I agree Lola can be really funny. She totally lost me with her attitude about Sofia of Sweden and that’s why I don’t spend any time there. I read Kate Middleton Review but hardly ever post. It’s the same on Duchess Kate too. I don’t post there often any more, because some of those people blow a gasket if you don’t like Kate’s clothes. It’s all ridiculous when you think about it.

I really wish there was a site where discussion can happen. I think the moderator at Kate MIddleton Review has a much more middle of the road view than a lot of her posters, but it gets drowned out. I think it was there I was told I wasn’t normal for defending Kate on something. I also think Charlotte tries over at Duchess Kate, and there are a few over there who are intelligent and back up their opinions and there have been some good conversations. It’s been mostly clothes lately though as Kate’s been out and about more, and I confess that bores me to tears!

      • suze says:

Hi bluhare! I float in here once in a while, too. Don’t comment as much anymore, due to the same reasons.

        Hope all is well!

      • bluhare says:

It’s nice to see you too, suze. Life’s OK in bluhareville; hope the same is true in suzeland!

    • LizB says:

KMR used to be great, but every one has lost their minds about MM. It’s ridiculous.

  15. Basi says:

Amy–genuine question. Do you know Megan? Outside of media??

  16. Kitty says:

Honestly we have to wait and see. We know nothing.

    • Maria says:

We do know there is a relationship Kitty. Harry confirmed it.

    • Can'tRecall says:

There was nothing to indicate she was not calm Kitty. I mean it’s not like she has repeatedly asked if the relationship is real…or asked constantly if they have broken up…or been stuck on “I don’t think they will marry”…right?

    • Adele Dazeem says:

Photo evidence at the daily fail. Gird your loins fangirls!!

      • Olenna says:

Ha! I imagine they are seriously losing their sh*t right now and are furiously blaming Meghan for leaking the pics.

      • suze says:

LOL well you made me look. Looks like a fun, relaxed wedding.

Meghan is as always very beautiful, but she was wearing a dress straight from the Katie Cambridge school of royal dressing. So if she’s auditioning, she is wearing the correct costume. Harry is balding, and from some angles looked like middle age was settling in around his head. That alone tells me it’s time he locked down a life partner, particularly one as beautiful as Meghan, and one as game for the royal life as she seems to be.

So I say that the fans of this relationship will be pleased. It looks like a step forward.

      • HappyMom says:

        I think she’s beautiful-and I did like the dress.

  17. amy says:

I also think she’s playing pr games, maybe she’s doing it for the case they won’t get married and people will remember her. Who knows.

(Edit: I’m not that other Amy ; )

    • notasugarhere says:

Amy, no media connections or spin doctors needed for that. The media will always keep her connected to Harry, no help from her needed. They still harp on about Chelsy dating him a decade ago. The media’s memory is long.

      • Trixie says:

Chelsy uses that to her advantage, though, like when she gave an interview to support her jewelry line and mentioned Harry.

    • Kate says:

      This is getting pathetic.

  18. Linabear says:

Wow, to be able to spend so much time together – months and then a reunion a week after separation – when living so far apart thanks to time and $$$ is amazing. It makes me feel bad about my LDR.

  19. Loopy says:

Whats is a premium economy seat?

    • notasugarhere says:

In my experience? The first few rows of seats in the regular cabin, with more leg room. Economy seats are the rest, where they are closer together (front to back) and obviously further from the exit.

    • Citresse says:

Extra leg room, work space and better meal, pretty much. Though I find it unusual Harry would fly commercial while Meghan flies in a private jet. It wasn’t that long ago she was photographed walking around KP carrying a bag with message to end poverty. Hypocrisy much?

      • Maria says:

Harry does fly commercial, I am very surprised that he is flying economy. As for Megan flying private, maybe she is getting a free ride from someone.

    • Tina says:

Ah, didn’t see it was Virgin. Virgin has three classes for long haul travel: Upper Class, Premium Economy and Economy. In Upper Class you get a flat bed with a pillow and blanket, very good food and drink and lounge access. In Premium Economy you get what Citresse said, a bit of extra leg room, work space, better meal and I think a welcome drink.

    • addie says:

Premium Economy is located between Business Class and Economy. It’s about double the price of Economy and half the price of Business Class. You get a slightly larger seat, definitely more comfortable, a drink of choice as you sit down, a better menu and more choice, a PE bathroom, and snacks/drinks that you can access as you like. I’ve traveled PE on Virgin and it is definitely more comfortable than the sardine seats in Economy.

    • seesittellsit says:

Premium economy is more leg room. I ‘m 5′-81/2″ – I get them when I can, which isn’t often because they’re always gone by the time I’m picking seats.

      • Nic919 says:

I know some posters above were commenting on the lack of royal history in these threads now, but I have to say I did learn a few things about potentially renting a private jet, as well as premium economy. The more you know….(NBC star)

  20. Darla says:

LOL. The comments on this story are lit! I had no opinion one way or the other, but now I am kinda hoping they get engaged just to read the comments. This is better than an Aniston thread for watching heads explode. And that’s saying something!

    • Leah says:

Just said the same. Its hilarious! I honestly couldn’t care less about the royals or meghan but his fangirls are on another level its Twilight level crazy.

    • Shambles says:

Seriously, I had no idea we had reached peak Brangelina hostility on the Prince Harry threads as well. This thread has been a sight to behold.

  21. Leah says:

I hope they get married just because i find the meltdowns from his pressed fangirls ( Hey Amy!) so entertaining!

  22. oce says:

My Mom and I are keeping our fingers crossed for Meghan and Harry to work out, get engaged and married, and have as many babies as possible. My Mom and I think that Meghan, being 35 and Black, will be a great example for others to stop looking down on Black women and see us as desirable. So we squealed when Serena Williams got engaged to a succesful entrepreneur and we will jump for joy and celebrate if Meghan and Harry work out. Haters beware! #BlackGirlMagic

    • Bianca says:

Did you read that story on boredpanda about Jax Rosebush and his best friend Reddy? It made my heart melt.
I hope their babies take after her, she’s better looking than him.

  23. Hype says:

The scariest thing about these fan girls on tumblr eg; Rpattz & kstew , harry & cumberbatch is that these are grown women. I mean how delusional and sad does life have to get to be fantasising about another persons life like it adds something to yours.

The wonderful and scary thing about the internet, you always find people who share your beliefs no matter how crazy.

    • Lady D says:

The same grown women who made 50 Shades of Grey so successful.

    • Sarah says:

How do you even have time to go on tumblr and see what these supposed people say? I think you need a job, or go volunteer your time to a good and worthy cause. :)

      • lobbit says:

Oh, Sarah, this is the very definition of a “hit dog hollering.”

Anyhow, I’m guessing Hype carves out time in his/her day for celeb gossip and social media in the same way YOUUUU and everyone else here does.

  24. Kristen says:

Honestly I’m most interested in the flight details. Harry flew premium economy? I’m impressed. Can’t picture W&K doing that.

    • addie says:

There’s nothing wrong with Premium Economy. If Harry is footing the bills himself he’s being sensible with his funds. I wonder if he is obliged to pay for his security’s costs for private activities or contribute? No, I can’t imagine W+K and their entourage traveling any way but sealed off first class or private jet.

  25. MellyMel says:

If some of the comments on this thread left by some clearly butt-hurt Harry fangirls is any indication of what’s to come WHEN he proposes…I am thrilled!! I need to get my popcorn ready for y’all!

  26. Reece says:

They need to set a date so I can book my plane ticket! I was gonna try to go to London for my bday but I will hold off and go to NYC instead.
I fully intend on keeping my promise of fangirling outside the church with a Union Jack/Old Glory hybrid flag.

  27. Sunflowers says:

Hilarious how people are screaming at Amy to “get a life! Why do you care so much! Youre taking this too personal” all the while dogpiling her and doing the same thing.
Taking it personal, caring too much what a person on the internet thinks and defending the relationship between two people that you don’t know either.

So, regardless of if Amy is a Stan or fangirl trying to reason with someone who has their mind made up is pointless.
Just like Harry won’t care if Amy is pissed about him being with Meghan, he won’t give a toss, about people defending him either.

    • Tina says:

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I don’t particularly care about any of the stans, or fangirls, or frankly even Harry or Meghan that much. What I do care about is accuracy, and the truth. So when people post things that are untrue (like the nonsense about divorced people not being able to remarry in the CoE) I think it’s important to correct it.

      • Mousyb says:

Exactly. If youre on this site (and commenting) OF COURSE you care to a degree. But if youre spreading blatant lies and assumptions based on your own warped perception ppl have the right to call you out on it, which I dont consider dogpiling.

And he made a statement a few months ago about meghan and the press giving her a hard time. So clearly he does care to some degree…

    • addie says:

Good point. The over-investment in Meghan and Harry goes both ways. I’d rather have one accurate piece of news than endless leaks from the couple’s respective PR masquerading as ‘pals’ and ‘friends’ or whatever. Actually, I’d rather they just live their lives; no-one needs to know their business.

    • Can'tRecall says:

It’s not even remotely the same. What Amy and the tumblr brigade are doing is bullying and character assassination. Defending Meghan’s right to exist and date is not the same as spinning a fantasy out of whole clothe and peddling it as truth in order to feed ones own insecurities. Nor is wishing Meghan and Harry the best (even in jest) the same as staning…Just so we don’t try to conflate unequal actions in the defense of a bully…Right!

      • Sarah says:

Oh, please. Saying that there is very little evidence to prove ANY of these stories isn’t saying Meghan shouldn’t exist. You really need to get a life, get some perspective, stop bullying actual human beings on this site. Stop bullying people.

      • Trixie says:

The people who hate Meghan are talking into the wind. The people who insult the people who hate Meghan are talking directly to another person.

Insulting someone to the wind is not bullying. Insulting someone to that person is bullying.

      • Tina says:

Meghan is a real person too, she’s not imaginary. She’s not reading this board (at least I hope not) but insulting her for literally no reason is not a harmless thing to do.

      • addie says:

My observation as a casual observer, and not having a dog in the race, is that pro- and anti-Meghan commenters are equally invested in their respective positions and both are quick to anger when others disagree with their point of view. In that way they are similarly scary.

Various someones are leaking drivel about both parties’ personal (not professional) activities to get people worked up. It’s a PR game and should be ignored until the couple announces something concrete. It’s not as if Meghan or Harry give a shit what anyone thinks.

    • Sixer says:

I think it’s just the rudeness that gets me. People must say whatever they want to say – even if it is completely divorced from reality.

But, as Suze points out elsewhere on this thread, it’s fairly obvious that there’s a settled community of commenters hereabouts who often disagree but generally get along with one another and who have constructive discussions.

If A THING happens that excites the professionally disgruntled and the professionally disgruntled are suddenly everywhere with opinions that seem outlandish to a settled community, it upsets the balance.

When you’ve just met someone, you don’t barge into their living room and change the TV channel. You ring them up and ask if they fancy a coffee.

This is not to say that new people should ask permission before they speak. It’s just pointing out that they’ll get a better reception if they take the time to gauge the temperature and get to know the people before they start being so angry and negative and demanding. You know – have some manners.

    • Spiderpig says:

None of us give a shit what Harry thinks, because we don’t know him and many of us are not even fans.

We are long term posters who do not want our chat board taken over by the absolute flood of nasty misogynistic rantings from sockpuppeting trolls.

      • Olenna says:

Thank you! Couldn’t have said it better. Some of those rantings are so bizarre and vicious that I can’t believe a sane person is writing them.

  28. suze says:

All I want are Flying Elvi.

The rest of this conversation is just batshit. He has a girlfriend and she’s going to his best friends wedding. Maybe. Probably. Good possibility. Both those denying the relationship and those investing this woman with the magical qualities of a unicorn are a bit…out there. To say the least.

I am bowing out until they set a date, then I will be back for the Elvi.

    • Sixer says:

No, just stay darling. Let’s be the Flying Elvi Resistance! We can have Orders of Merit and everything.

  29. suze says:

  30. Beluga says:

But… But I thought that they broke up well before Christmas.

Surely the Daily Mail comment section didn’t LIE to me!

  31. Bianca says:

I like them more and more as a couple and she is VERY attractive.
    Thank God she stopped instagramming.

  32. Rocio says:

The amount of investment in these two people is astonishing. They’re not going to save the world. They will have a lovely wedding and live a rich life founded by the British people.

OT, how can a TV actress (TBH I’ve never heard about this lady before the royal romance) afford a private jet? I mean this is not TBBT actress or Sofia Vergara. It’s not even GOT level.

  33. Sophia's Side eye says:

Don’t you guys understand they can’t be together because Harry loves me reeeeeeee!!! Lol at the butt hurt, this is a good escape from the tRump threads.

  34. seesittellsit says:

Well if they’re going to skip the dismal autumn weather in a Britain still agonizing over BREXIT and do the summer wedding they’d better hurry up! You need at least five months to plan a royal wedding and no one wants August . . . personally, I think Harry is kind of dumb, he doesn’t to anything for me (if I’m going to go for a ginge, I want James Norton for Christmas, Meghan can have Harry) and she’s a really untalented D-list actress and I do think kind of exploiting the relationship, but she IS awfully pretty!

And quite truthfully, I don’t care whether they’re happy or not, either.

But I DO love royal weddings and it’s been pretty dry out there since Wills and Kate, and the last two Swedish royal weddings . . . so get a move on, Harry. And for god’s sake, can we PLEASE not have another oval ruby/sapphire surrounded by diamonds for the engagement ring?

Can we have a really large cushion-cut diamond or emerald cut (the latter is my favorite cut, so elegant)?

As for what her going to the wedding in Jamaica means, who the hell knows?! If she’s the steady, she goes to the wedding with him. Might mean a proposal is in the offing, might not.

Speakin’ of which – has anyone seen much of Charlene of Monaco lately? God, that woman’s eyes always look so sad, and it looked like she’d put on a lot of weight.

    • LAK says:

Step away from MY internet boyfriend aka James Norton. LOL

      • Sixer says:

Bloody hell, LAK. This is turning into a longstanding crush! I’m calling it now: you’re a Norton stan.

      • LAK says:

        It’s full on Cumberbatchitis!!!!! LOL

      • Sixer says:

I’m currently in lurve with that grime chap, Stormzy. The Sixlets think this is utterly disgusting and I should fancy people my own age instead.

      • seesittellsit says:

@LAK – I’d be embarrassed to tell you how many times I’ve watched both seasons of Grantchester – did you catch him as Prince Andrei in the BBC War and Peace?

      • LAK says:

I did. I watched everything he is in. It’s embarrassing, but oddly life affirming because i haven’t had a celeb crush since i was a tween and given that i work in the film industry, actors are the last group of people i ever fancy, so this is a huge surprise.

      • Nic919 says:

All I can say is that is was a bit disturbing to watch War and Peace and Happy Valley at about the same time.. just wondering what else he is working on now.

    • notasugarhere says:

Charlene and the twins were just featured in another photo shoot (Hello?) and she looked fine, healthy, and happy. She was also photographed happy and healthy, training for a charity race. Something to do with water bicycles.

  35. Laura says:

I think Meagan is gorgeous!!! Harry is very fortunate to have such a beautiful, ambitious, successful and compassionate woman at his side. I hope they continue to enjoy one another’s company!

  36. Candela says:

Me: ..”his friend Jamaica’s wedding”? What a cool name! I wonder if it’s male or female..
    Me: *headpalm*

  37. notasugarhere says:

In an attempt to start a different royal conversation.

Is it realistic to go to 6 working royals for the entire UK? UK has 64 million but also other nations to cover. I don’t think they can get away with going to 6, unless they 1) continue the same amount of work that is currently done by 16 people, meaning minimum 3000 bread-and-butter engagements a year and 2) they cut their expenses down at least to 3/8 of what they are now.

Some other remaining monarchies are cutting down to monarch, spouse, heir, heir’s spouse. Those monarchies serve far fewer people however. ex. Norway has 4 working royals for 5 million people.

    • Sixer says:

I think we require more of a return on the recent investment of £360m in Buck House, frankly.

No, if we must have royals, 6 aren’t enough. But of course, I think we should dispense with them altogether, make celebrities do most of the charidee stuff, and have a nice national treasure for non-executive president and much reduced ribbon-cutting.

      • Maria says:

I have a question for the Brits. How much does the monarchy cost compared the money they bring in through their charities, tourism etc.? Also how many jobs would be lost if the monarchy was to be abolished? I wonder if the Royal Family is good for business, like selling tabloids and magazines, charities that benefit immensely from their patronages, as well as the tourists that visit palaces etc. I mean they have been around for a long time, so isn’t it kind of premature to say that it will end with the queen’s death? What is the purpose of the monarchy exactly?

      • notasugarhere says:

Would that return on investment include turning it into a museum open most of the days of the year? Or making it the main London accommodation for the working royals?

That is one major expense I think needs to be examined – the number of royal residences in London. Put them all in one place IMO.

    • suze says:

Are they throwing Anne, Sophie and Eddie out? Anne is the perfect royal, she runs around planting 10 trees to every 1 glam event either Wills, Kate or Harry show up at.

They’ll have enough. Charles and Camilla to do the official duties. The enemy of the people, the press, will have to light a fire under the WillKat crew to shame them into action. Once they do, they will cover the glam first tier events. Second tier players Harry and Meghan (what the hell, let’s just assume it happens and that Meghan has enough influence over Harry to bust him out of his routine of only covering his favored charities ) can cover the slightly less glamourous events and tours, and then the chorus of Anne, Sophie and Eddie can open hospital wings and shopping centers, and charities that aren’t particularly high profile or one of the big six’s “pet projects”.

They’re all healthy adults. Every day they need to get hustling. Heck, Anne already does. She can mentor the laggards.

  38. Lorelai says:

I can’t even lie, I’m just here to see what Amy has to say about the photos from the wedding.

(Not my proudest moment, but everything is so depressing in America right now that I’ll take distractions wherever I can find them.)

The comments about these two have become so much more interesting than the story itself!

    • Snowflake says:

Not just pictures, theres video on the DM of them holding hands! I hope amys head doesnt explode!

      • Zut alors! says:

Please lord no to the head explosions. Can you imagine little Amy heads running amok in the comment thread shouting “they’re not a real couple”? On another note, we could turn it into a fun game of wack a mole.

    • Maria says:

What wedding? It was all fake news. The pics were photoshopped, it never happened!

    • HappyMom says:

      Ha! Me too.

    • Lorelai says:

She let us down! No Amy/Kitty today, now that there’s (more) photographic evidence 🤷🏻‍♀️

  39. Almondjoy says:

Cute pic of them together 😍

  40. Bee says:

All the girls who are quietly jealous on this thread will rapidly get over it once he’s gone bald. I still can’t believe the chance is high he may marry an American. Nothing against them whatsoever, but still can’t believe that the whole of England, Scotland and Wales couldn’t produce a suitable girlfriend/wife for Harry.

    • notasugarhere says:

“suitable”? This isn’t the era of arranged matches. He’s found someone who knows how to live away from her mummy, does charity work, and knows how to work for a living. How is this unsuitable?

Many royals have married from outside their country.

Beatrix of the Netherlands married Claus (Germany)
Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands married Maxima (Argentina)
Margrethe of Denmark married Henri (France)
Fred of Denmark married Mary (Australia)
Joachim of Denmark married Alex (China), then Marie (France)
Baudouin of Belgium married Fabiola (Spain)
Philippe of Belgium married Mathilde (Polish aristocrat living in Belgium)
Henri of Lux married Maria-Teresa (Cuba)
Felix of Lux married Claire (German)
Elizabeth of the UK married Philip (Denmark and Greece-ish)
Duke of Gloucester married Birgitte (Danish and Dutch)
Prince Michael of Kent married Marie-Christine (Germany and Hungary)
Peter Philips married Autumn Kelly (Canada)
Lady Gabrielle Windsor married Gary Lewis (NZ)
Carl-Gustav of Sweden married Silvia (Germany and Brazil)
Madeleine of Sweden married Chris (UK and US)

      The list goes on.

Why is the 5th in line to the UK throne required to marry someone from the UK? His grandmother the Queen wasn’t required to.

  41. sara says:

someone can explain to me why people hate this girl?? I think she is a nice girl, work and good looking.
